To be honest the next batch of discus I am getting I am using a 55gal tank or even my 40 breeder and a few sponge filters with water changes everyday to raise the next batch and using bare bottom to grow them out first for the first year, main reason is that not risking to stunt the grouwth even though I havn't really ran into that issue

Both sizes are pretty good I am using a 40 breeder to grow out five of my juvys. It's actually around 45 gallons.

finished the scape-now its just the wait for discus
i do have to let the tank mature for a little bit before discus

i put sand in a nd did my first wc
it was very easy to see the stuff and suck it off
