Hey lovelies!

First day of my new job today :)

Was pretty easy, thankfully :)

Hey lovelies! Last week I took my common pleco and synodontic catfish (They came with my second hand tank, no hate please!!) to my local LFS for them to rehome because my tank isn't big enough for them and the syno was eating my baby platies! :( I got a little bristlenose now, he's about 4.5cm and he's gorgeous! :)

That's cool that they took them, some shops don't want to be bothered.

Hey Lovelies!  Thank God for backup lights.  The 20 gallon lights never came on so I diagnosed it as a bad starter in the fixture.  I ended up setting up the ZooMed fixture which required removing the hood.  I used the ZooMed instead of the Nova fixture because it has 2 bulbs on separate switches.  That tank was setup to be low light with Anubias & Wisteria so that fixture allows me to change up the lighting here and there.

I like the new look and the fish seem to also............

Yesterday I randomly tested the ammonia & nitrite in Zach's 3 gallon Betta cube and it was all bright yellow & bright blue.  I also took one of my Otos from the 36 gallon and put him in with the Betta in that 3 gallon.  He's cleaned up the algae like a champ!  The results were so good I moved another Otos to one half of the divided 10 gallon.  That side of the 10 gallon is also well on it's way to being algae free.

Water changes today, with some plant pruning & with any luck I'll be able to catch the last Glowlight & the 7 remaining Neons to rehome to my 20 gallon.

Cool job MoF, sounds like a sort of labor of love since you like Baseball so much.  How's that tank swap working out for you?

The tank swap hasn't happened yet. LFS is trying to convince us we won't see it, but I the end my dad is persistent we'll get a new tank. Doesn't really matter anyways. Won't have any water in it for about 2-3 months anyways.

I have a 20 gallon tank with the "Inspected By:" sticker under the rim on an angle.  If I set up that tank with that sticker towards the back, it can be seen.

Let me post a pic of the sticker

it's like they put those stickers in those places on purpose.. my 37 gallon has one that I can't peel off..

Anyone want any guppy fries?? I has a couple hundred of them..

Dude, that's the exact problem I'm talking about!  I just put the filter in front of it since it works out to be a good spot for it anyway.  I could also flip the tank around & it would be on the inside front where it couldn't be seen.  Here's pictures of mine:

Incidently, this is the 20 & 10 gallon combo setup I'm selling on craigslist.  Should get about $100 including filters.

my Metro+ and PraziPro finally arrived today so I can treat my clown loaches for possible internal parasites.  Picked up a few artificial plants as well because they looked nice, not sure which tanks they will go in yet

Hey lovelies
Do any of you know at roughly what size do bristlenose plecos start to get their bristles? Mine is about 4cm and I can't see any bristles yet, but he came out today and was happily munching the algae on the front of the tank and this female platy starts pecking him (He's the same colour as an algae wafer, she loooooooves algae wafers...) and these things came out of his gills, almost like a warning sign... They looked like the little bristles that males have, however i can't actually see any on his face, just the ones that came out of his gills and went back in after the platy gave up.

Any Ideas? I hope it's a male, they look dead cute with the bristles on their face like a little beard

I have 3 female Bristlenose Plecos and they're cute too.

The largest is about 3 inches long and she lives in my 36 gallon.  She also has the most personality and she isn't shy at all.
