How large are they? I picked up a spongefilter at my LFS, it was the smallest one they have and it was only $10, that ebay auction was $20 for me with shipping so I just grabbed the one I needed for my fry tank, but it was larger then I expected. Box says its a Seapora 30 and its prob 4-5 inches tall? Not including the tube the airline goes into

That must be American inches.. I am not sure how that converts to British inches..

like we has the ton which is 2000 pounds.. you guys has The British Ton which is a couple hundred kilos.. Don't even axe me how that makes sense..

but then again, conversions were never my strong suit.. I pretty much juss guess anyways..

I thought British and Canadian were almost the same thing? I'm from Canada and I thought you were from the States. I'm a hyrbid child myself from school and tv/internet teachings so I use most of both systems. We aren't supposed to use pounds here all grams/kilograms but ya, 1 ton = 1000kg = 2240lbs

I haven no idea why we use liters for everything in Canada yet aquariums are all done in gallons, I guess its cause of the American market

Well... it seems my tank might have an infection, I have no idea how to treat a tank of this size its going to be alot of chemicals...

I'm never buying fish or plants from the store down the road again :/

oh man.... now I'm all kinds of confused..

it's all that metric talk.. Sorry..

How do you feel aboot this lockout?? I am sixty or so days into a rightious beard that I am growing in protest until my beloved BOSTON BRUINS take to the ice..

Hey Lovelies!!!!

Big doings today... was multitasking at work.. Had four different projects going on at once.. Probably the most interesting thing was I figured out how to simulate the temperature coefficent as well as simulate a resistance on this new conductivity probe that this guy I work with installed today that monitors our high purity water at work..

If you connected two decade boxes in series on the probe sensor input terminal block and injected 1096 ohms into the probe temp inputs that would simulate 25°C, and then with the other decade box inject 1.6MOhms and 1.8MOhms you could verify the system accuracy minus the probe. To verify the probe we'd has to use conductivity solutions which I hate..

Unfortunatly in my line of work I need tracable proof to a specification or a procedure for the work I did to be a calibration.

Listing a tank size in liters is just misleading. 120 liters sounds like a huge tank but it's really just under 32 gallons.

That hurt my heading reading it..............now I must medicate.

Wow, that's no good. Which tank is it, the 125? What's the symptoms? Maybe someone here will know what's best.

The 125, two of the female guppies I bought that were pregnant ended up being sick, they died and the tank at the store they were in were pretty much wiped out. The only thing was, my 3rd female showed no signs of anything for almost a week. I put her back in the big tank, looked at her this morning and she had some spots. Isolated her and now I see some spots on my Black Neons... Good news at least is I'm going to the LFS tomorrow out of town to buy a stand for the 75 gallon I just got. I"ll pickup some ich medicine since they dont sell anything larger then the 30 ml bottles which do absolutely nothing for a tank the size I have. I know tetras are extra sensitive to the meds, I'll have to hope they have a larger bottle of the stuff thats safe for tetra and scaleless fish. Their site has the one I need on sale for more then half off, but it'll take a few days to arrive unless they have it at the store

Goods news at least is after all the money I've spent at their store, after I buy the stand I'll have $200 credit which can either get me alot of food in the future, some meds, or will pay to stock my 75 gallon next month when the filters are ready

As per the lockout... eh I stopped watching commercial hockey after the last lockout

Maybe you should try Kordon Rid Fungus.

I kow, you're saying it's not a fungus, but this stuff works on almost everything when you aren't sure what you have going on in your tank. It's supposedly 100% natural & organic so it's okay for even Corys according to them. I have used it multiple times & it smells nasty, makes your water brownish but it does work.

Here's a link:

They claim it's good for Ich as well as many others..................water changes remove the smell as well as the brownish color of your water.

Hey lovelies!

My kuhlis yesterday morning and this morning are exhbiting spawning behaviors! :D
Luke paired up with Luna, and Lorelei paired up with.....Lumpy! I guess he's not feeling so bad after all! They were swimming around in pairs and in sync. and wiggling all over.

Sadly, no footage, it happened too quick.... :C

I found it on their site

That seems to be the largest bottle they sell, which wont be enough for my tank size. I'll have to buy a few bottles, or ask them which I should use between the Ich or Fungus stuff

The Ich stuff is good too, but the Rid Fugus treats a wider range of nasties. If you're sure what you have is Ich, go for for the Rid Ich since I think it's cheaper. Depending on what fish you have, you can also treat Ich with Aquarium Salt.

All the fish I have are in the sig, I'll see what they have when I get to the store in a few hours. The male guppy that was placed back in to the 20 gallon seems fine, as per the rest of the tank. The 125 the only thing that seems affected ( for now ) are the Black Neons, my Harlequin/neon/xray/rainbow etc are all fine. I'll raise the temp a little and get another bubbler since the one I was originally using was placed in the fry tank to add more oxygen

Edit: Heres their meds, http://www.bigalspets.ca/fish/health-supplements-medications.html The store I go to isnt the largest of their chain so they dont have everything, but I'm hoping they'll have something good

Hey Lovlies!!

I am presently dialating my brochial passageway in an effort to feel better..

I has a 2 year old, and apparently when they get sick, you're 100% garunteed to get sick..

it's funny, my daughter and I has the same exact cough, runny nose and watery eyes.. The wife thinks it's cute that were both miserable at the same time..
