I got a wild guppy male that is showing that snake skin pattern... what I plan on doing is mating him with a fancy virgin female, and see what I get.. that is a few weeks out.. I has a lot of fry that are growing.. Can't sex them quite yet.

I need some opinions here guys...

My little sister has a tank with 2 female guppies, 5 platies and a betta. We had a male guppy but he died about 3/4 months ago. One of the females is looking absolutely huge now, like a little cube. Is it possible that she is pregnant, even though she hasn't had any contact with males for a few months? I know they can store sperm for a few months so I'm thinking she is pregnant, and it's not a disease or anything...

Do you guys think she is close to giving birth? My sister will be gutted if I miss her birth and all of the fry get eaten. She has been wanting fry for so long!
