Hey Lovelies!
Just came home from the park.
Also, got new sandals, some silver ones with scale figures over them.

And i ate a cheese and ham sandwich while at the park, but our neighbor was too lazy to go with us to the other park that has a lake, so we had to stay in the closest park. -.-
Darn, and I wanted to eat that sandwich near the lake! X_X

Also, fry pics:

Top: That little dot is a longfin fry of Eris. Yet unnamed.
Sushi, he is the biggest, yet not the oldest.
Bottom: Ninja, the oldest fry, and yet second biggest.

Bottom: Zombie, the orange longfin fry from Eris. He is quite shy, though he still comes when i put food in there.

hey Lovelies...

My homemade fry trap has failed me and the fry that I just found has escaped and I can't see it anywhere.

Aww :(
I wanted to make a homemade fry trap too, but then dad bought me this one.
But i want these fry to grow up at 3 cm already X_X I don't want to risk losing them, especially Ninja. Looks like the second they show weakness, they get ganged up on or something, and then I just can't find them so I guess they get eaten.

I used a breeders net for my platies from the last drop - I refuse to use it again because every single fry got stuck down the sides. And that was about 12 fry. :shout:

I also have the same issue with them being ganged up on - I will put the young platies in the main tank and they are fine for a few weeks, and then BOOM. They are gone.

:dunno:

But Molly fry are larger than Platy fry so I suppose that's why you have success with the breeders net and I do not with young fry. They are fine when they are a little bigger though.

Until I've added my new lyretail, Arrie, I had HEAPS of tiny fry in there. And no fish was picking on them.
And then Arrie started to chase those tiny little ones all the time. Before I knew it, they were all gone and only the biggest 3 were there.
Then, one day, I did a 50% water change. Next day, 1 pink fry was refusing the food. I thought maybe it was too early to feed the fish or something. Well, 4 hours later, that pink fry was gone AND my favorite fry, Chrome, which was half white, half black with a black tiger stripe on middle, was feeling ill too.
I kept an eye on Chrome the whole day, until at night, when I only looked away from the tank for 30 minutes... and then he was gone. Last time I saw him, he was just sitting there at the surface. :(

So I said I'm taking no more risks so I put my last 2 fry, (from a female that hasn't been pregnant for 2, almost 3 months now) in a fry net.

EDIT: I have swordtail fry. They're just as big as your platy fry.

I like your new sandals by the way! I couldn't wear them, the British 'summer' weather is rubbish at the moment! Well, I say "at the moment" but to be honest, it's always rubbish -_-

They're a bit old-fashioned, but so am I. X))
And here it's a drought, it rarely rains. But at least the rain brought cooler times. Can't wait for autumn. My favorite season.

Brings back memories of the Molly fry from last Christmas. Last week I saw a few of the ones we gave a local fish store, The Fish Room. They looked awesome. They're about half silver half/orange creamsicle in color with black speckled patterns on their sides. The father was a Platinum Sailfin & the mom was a Creamsicle Lyretail so they had the double pointed tails & a mini sailfin. To be honest I almost bought one!

I'm hoping that Arrie gives birth soon and that her fry will carry that nice lyretail phenotype.
I have at least 1 confirmed longfin fry in there.

Which Sword is the Orange & Black longfin in your signature?

Hey Lovelies!!!

Hey Lovelies! Happy Saturday morning!

Last night Priest, the Blue Tuxedo guppy, died. There's only one guppy left now, the killer guppy named Patriot because he's red, white & blue. Let's just say he isn't getting any new friends anytime soon. I believe he's a serial killer ans I secretly hope the Bolivian Ram eats him.

In other news one of my beloved Threelined Corys has a nasty looking fungus on his head and covering one of his eyes. I had to half dose the tank with aquarium conditioning salt and hope for the best. I'll probably add another half dose later today when the lights come on. Not only did that new Guppy kill all the other Guppies but it would seem he brought some kind of fungus to the tank.

All this Guppy drama has also made me late on water changes for my 36 gallon. I'll be doing a 50% water change later today regardless of what happens with that other tank.

Hey Lovelies!!!

Heading off to BT's Smokehouse.. Getting pulled chicken, ribs, brisket, and mac/cheese, corn bread, rib tips, etc....

Scraped some bottom of the barrel to maintain my 1.000 batting average
