Fish usually go up and down the glass if bored or hungry.
Mine rarely do that since they have so much to play with, including the snails.

I also read half way through that thread of yours about upgrading your tank, and let me say it's one of the funniest threads I've ever read anywhere. I plan to read the second half tonight..............

I figured he was doing the up & down the glass thing because he was just released into the tank. I don't know if I can save that Neon or not and I'm not big on medicating a tank when I don't know what the problem really is. None of the other fish show any signs of this. In fact it could be egg bound?

Idk, no experience with egg layers. Except hoplos, but those never bred, and my betta spawn failed since the eggs just rotted away. -.-

My tank has acquired its final fish in my stocking plan: pretty dwarf gourami! He joins the black phantom tetras and amano shrimp to make a merry aquarium.

My swordtail male finally started doing his... err... job. LOL. Though he still has eyes only for Bee.
And his sword started getting a yellow line.
