TFF annual get together

Cryosi - there is not a bad fish shop about twenty minutes walk from Leicester Square in Great Portland Street :) Got quite a nice selection but the shop is a bit on the small side.....

London Aquarium sounds like a great idea - I have only been once :( but it was great. I have been meaning to go again for some time. It would make a nice easy place to congregate and then it is not too far to take a stroll past the London Eye, over Hungerford Bridge and up to Trafalgar Square and the West End.

CFC - August would be a bad time for this. All of the tourist attractions will be really busy and a lot of places have really poor air-con. Also a lot of people will be away on their holidays during August. I would suggest either early to mid July (or before) or leave it into September when the schools are back. Given that a lot of people on here are working/studying it is likely that we would have to make it a Saturday or Sunday and these will always be the busiest times.

Well it looks like all you southerns are doing London and all the talk about going to london is putting you off what about the northern peeps going out up North for a get together? Me I'll be up for both!!!!!

Right, since it has been pointed out that there are some flaws in the plan so far i think that what we all need to do is post when would be the best date for this to happen and where you would like it to be (it must be a Saturday to suit peoples work/study commitments).

Something like

DATE: ??/??

PLACE: ????????

Cannot go on: ??/??

This way we can try and arrange things so that it will suit the good majority of people and/or put it to a poll.

Pesonally im easy with anytime or place,my job makes me travel a lot so thats nothing new and we dont have a holiday planned this year.

:D :alien: :D Any Saturday any time in late July or all of August school holidays ( would have to sort child minders for our three kids) :D :alien: :D

Any Saturday in July after the 12th, any Saturday in August except the 9th.

London is best for me as it is local, but I am happy to travel if it makes it more convenient for everyone.

Has anyone realised that the founder of the forum William won't be able to attend any drinking establishments due to his age :p

August is no good for me as I'm off to Israel. Friday nights - Saturday are no good either due to the sabbath.

Sorry guys, but I think you'll have to count me out, but I'll be there in spirit and look forward to any incriminating photos with blackmail potential. :hyper:

:D If this year's party/meeting goes well PLEASE do it again in July 2004..My daughter's High school has arranged a trip & I get to be a chaperone! YIPPY! We are both really excited about the trip but have to wait a whole year bummer.. Was actually shocked my hubby agreed to send us both..it is expensive but since this is a school trip we are catching a bit of a break.

As far as the kiddo's drinking we were told there was not an age restriction in the UK like there is in the USA ( must be 21 to go to the bars & have a beer)

18 age limit over here....

....though at 16 you're allowed wines, cider or perry in a restaurant with a meal...

....though thta said I was getting served at 14! ;) - (hence my current problems lol  )

:)

hmm i thaught we were goin to see the london aquarium does it have a bar? will can drink cola or something tho right. i used to go into bars and drink coke and play pool when i was 16 17. anyways we still have a month to work out a firm date for this. i cant wait

A few beers before the aquarium, and then a few more after :D

Sorted.

Also the way these 14 year olds look nowadays, they wont have any trouble getting in ;)

Oh yeah any day is good for me :)

This might sound real dull but I was at Syon park (Richmond) the other week and they've got a little aquarium there and an aquatics store (biggest in London i'm told) we could all bring booze n food and have a picnic type thing in the park, we miss out on too many tourists, we get food and drink and we can look at those shiny wet things that move.
Oh and london butterfly house is there too,
Soft ent I :*)
