Test kits-strips vs test tube

Hi all. Just setting up again after being out of the hobby fur several years. Tank is full, no fish yet. We use well water, and I tested it to get a baseline. Test strip showed .5 ammonia…test tube with liquid drops shows 0. Is one type viewed as more accurate? I don’t recall having ammonia in the water out of our tap
