Pegosus is dead. My favorite metallic blue plakat. He somehow managed to jump out the small open spaces in the back of the 5 gallon. He died before anyone found him.

I’m already depressed and it hasn’t even really sunk in yet.

I never thought he could get out those spaces between the tank wall and the filter...

I know how heartbraking this can be its happened to me to. I was sure the gap was to small. I have got a new lid so there are very tiny gaps i hope it never happens again

:-( I had the same thing happen; I never thought he could have squeezed out of such a tiny space, but he did. I find that if you buy that plastic used for needlepoint, you can trim it to fit the tubes and protruding parts perfectly then tape it down, and the fish can't get out any more. I've been super-paranoid ever since and even tape down the feeding doors when I'm not home so my cat can't flip the lid on one and let the fish hop out.

:( So sorry to hear about your loss. ::internet hugs::

Sorry to hear about your loss.

Had a female jump from her tank. She made it, but was surprised too since the open spaces on each side of the lid were just about as wie as her body.

Plastic needlepoint canvas is awesome. I use it for tank covers and to cover holes in the back of hoods.

It's really easy to use, just tape it down and no chance for the betta to get out.

So sorry for your loss.. I know how it feels, I've lost a betta to jumping as well. :-(
