Please, can someone tell me an easy (READ: easy) :D way to punch the holes out of the back of the standard tank cover (tank hood)?

You know what I mean?--the holes where you would put your filter and heater and other tank equipment. I am having SUCH a difficult time getting those holes. What in the world do you use? plyers, hammer, drill, WHAT?

thanks,
C

The easiest way is to cut the edges with a stanley knife. You may break the whole thing trying to punch it out.

Sorry, for our US friends, you probably would call it a utility knife or somehing like that. Its one of those knives you use for DIY and decorating etc) .

Get a butter knife and heat it up over the stove, and slice right on through! It's quick and easy. Just make sure you have some ventiliation going though.

I will do that....thank you very much!

EDIT: I just did it and it worked wonderfully!!!! Indeed, it is "quick and easy".
