Ah the old algae issues, I remember my fight with the stuff, I thought I was never gonna win. It wasn't until I employed a sump and Cheato (macro algae) lit 24/7 that I really got to grips with the dreaded green hair.
A thought for the future maybe.

haven't got space for a sump unfortunatly.

It is a possibility that i will have to dismantle this tank in a few months

If i do then i will break up my 190 ltr trigon tank and re set it up as marine and transfer all across.

We have a new baby on the way and the missus has never been keen on the idea of a tank in the bedroom.

This evening i have acclimatised 3 blue legged hermits.

In the few hours since they have been in they have done more than the pair of red hermits have in a week.

2 of the blue legs went into a corner and between them have completely cleaned the sand of about 3 square inches. They are now shinning up the rockwork.

I half expect to wake in the morning to a completely clean tank.

2nd compartment of rowaphos went in tonight.

No ceramic media now exists in my filter.
