I am very lucky in the fact that my Office overlooks the beech and sea, and it is only a half mile from my house so we quite often walk along the water or high tide line.
Today my daughter and I took a walk although the plan had been to go to the swimming pool but we got there and it was closed and the only way to placate a 4yr old who desperately loves her Thursday swim was to go beech-combing for sharks teeth and unusual shells. Normally the High tide line is full of cockle shells, mussel shells and the odd Oyster half. Today there were thousands of razor clam shells, you normally see a few but they were everywhere, along with a lot of live Oysters? We have extensive mussel and cockle beds, some of which have been over run by Oysters but I have never seen this on the beech.
Did come back with 2 nice big shells for dumping in my FOWLR for the big hermits in there.
