Stocking Ideas (Edited: Now With Pics)

I have tried that. I scrubbed the glass today when I did my water change, but the filter still wouldn't stick. I don't think it's a big problem. It still runs fine, it just has to sit on the bottom. And I don't mind putting my hand in the tank. Lol. It just gets annoying when you have to do it constantly.

Also, I noticed when I did my water change the cories were extremely skittish. Is that normal? Like, they were darting around the tank so fast and then they would all squish up together behind the filter and hide. Will they become less skittish when they have been in the tank for longer? I find they are also very camera shy. I can't get too close with the camera otherwise they will bolt.

seems like the rubbers have lost they're suction,i have one the same,i cleaned the glass and the suction pads on mine but it still won't stick,i now just clip a peg on the top of the wire and to the top of the tank.the filter is better at the top than the bottom :)

Hopefully the cories will settle in time :)

When I first got my corys they would shoal and dart around when I did a water change. Now they don't really bother, they move out of the way and they're still shy, but they do get used to it.

Ally, great stocking list! If you can't get the honeys or pearls, you could try dwarves. You'd have to ask others about the male/female ratio, though.

The betta tank is tiny (and I'm a "3 UK gallons or over" snob) but it looks great! I hope he's happy in there =)

A word on your 90L - the fish would massively appreciate more live/silk plants. They should be relatively inexpensive and it would make your tank look much more interesting and full.

Also your filter - I have that in my understocked 65 litre but it originallt came with a 54 litre tank. You need to keep an eye on your ammonia/nitrite/nitrate levels once all the fish are in. You might find it doesn't cope. If that happens, either replace it or get a second, smaller filter.

I'm not sure about the honeys, but I saw pearls in my LFS when I bought my cories, so hopefully there will still be some there next time I go. (Whenever that is. Lol. I have to wait until my dad can take me.) And I know that my LFS has dwarves, so that could be an option as well.

I know the tank is pretty small, but I'm not allowed to get another tank and he seems pretty happy in there anyway. Still taking suggestions for betta names, if anyone has any ideas.

I will eventually get more plants and stuff for my 90 litre, but I don't have any money right now. Lol! And I still need to get money for my gouramis.

When I first set up that tank I was told the filter was fine for it, but I guess you can't always trust fish store employees. I will watch the levels, but it should be fine. Before I ever came on this site I was overstocked and it handled the load fine. I've never had any problems with ammonia or anything, but as I said, I will be careful.

I went to the LFS yesterday and bought my 2 pearls. They seem to be settling in well and are eating and everything.

Will get some pics and hopefully post them later.

hey, at least or going faster then me! i havent gotten a new fish in about a week (my tank personally lol)

I only got 1 good photo. They didn't want to sit still. LOL!

Any comments on my new fish?

Also, I would appreciate it if someone could possibly try to sex them.

Im not entirely sure but i would say the one on the right is a male because of its slightly orange chest colour? And the orange will become more intense when it gets older?

This is what i was told when i was trying to sex mine. The orange has really come out now over the past 2 weeks so im positive its a male

Thanks for your opinion BadBadger.
I will see if I can get more pics to help with sexing them, but I doubt I'll have much luck! lol
Can anybody else try to sex them?

Nice Gouramis Ally. I have a couple of Blue Opaline ones and they are really elegant fish.

After sitting down and watching my new pearls for some time, I think I may have discovered their gender.

I was watching them eat, carefully looking over their bodies, trying to find something that would help me identify their sex. I noticed that the one that was thought to be a male by BadBadger was chasing the other one. The 'male' (if that is what it is) was sort of nipping at it and stopping it from coming near the food. It continued to chase the other whenever it was near, until finally the other one hid down on the gravel behind some plants.

I have also noticed that the 'male' has a more orangey colour to 'him' now. The other pearl - the smaller one - has also seemed to develop a slightly yellowish-orange colour on its bottom fin (sorry, don't know what that fin is called).

I am now worrying that they are both males. Can anyone confirm my suspicions? If they are both males, can they possibly live together? Will their fighting continue? Is the smaller pearl at risk of being harmed by the larger one?

Sorry about all the questions, but I hope someone can answer them quickly. I'm getting really worried about my fish. I don't want them to get hurt. Please reassure me ASAP!

Thanks in advance everyone,
from a now worried and concerned Ally.

BUMP!!!

Anybody have any ideas? I'm starting to get really worried about my fish. I can try to get some more pics if that is what's needed.
