Stocking 65L Tank

Hi all, new to this forum. Wondering what else can I stock in a 65L tank. Temperature is kept at around 21-degree Celsius or 70 Fahrenheit.

It is quite heavily planted, though the plants are still short.

Current Stock
- Golden White Cloud x 9
- Cory Hasbrosus x 8

Stock list on consideration
- Golden White Cloud x 6 or Platies x 5
- Cherry Shrimps x 10

Welcome to TFF.

Most of us here like to know the tank dimensions and the source water parameters (GH and pH) before suggesting fish species. But a couple of observations, beginning with the platies--I wold not add those here as they will overstock the tank given what is already present. Platies are not small fish as they grow and can have a greater impact on the biological system that the other fish here do not have.

The shrimp I will leave for others to comment, as some species will be readily eaten and others less eaten by the fish. The habrosus cories will not be as likely to eat shrimp as the larger cory species though baby shrimp might well get eaten.

The tank dimensions are 60 cm by 30 cm by 36 cm.

I got to retest the water parameters as it's been quite a while, can't recall. Will update when I got that done.

Hi, got an update,

tested using API liquid test kit.

PH - 7.4
GH 89.5 ppm; 5 drops
KH 53.7 ppm; 3 drops

First, the water is on the soft side (89 ppm = 4-5 dGH just for reference as these two units are used in the hobby). There are many fish species suited to soft water, such as most of those from South America (tetras, pencilfish, hatchetfish, cories, dwarf cichlids) and SE Asia (rasboras, gourami, loaches, danios, barbs) though some of these are too large or too active for as smaller tank such as this 65 liter (17 gallon) tank. But avoid all livebearers (platy, guppy, Endler, swordtail, molly).

The cories and whiteclouds mentioned in post #1 are fine here. Shrimp is not my area, and some need harder water than others, so I will leave those.] Temperature is good for both fish as they prefer it cooler than many of the tropical species.

You already have 9 golden white clouds but a few more shouldn't cause problems.

Thanks for the advice Byron, guess I will just stick with white clouds for this tank.
