Stealth Recall

Definitely it is time to call them if you have one of those heaters. I got a very nice response from them and am now waiting delivery of my replacement heaters from them.

I was a bit disappointed in the company's response. When I contacted them, they sent me a postage paid label to send my heater back, but would not replace it with another Stealth. They said a refund would come. How much? $27 unless I had the original receipt. I told them $27 wouldn't buy much, and since I had received the heater from THEM as a replacement under warranty they should have a record of it. I guess there will be no more Stealth heaters.

I had a very different response from them. They told me they were going to send me a Visi-therm to replace each of the ones I already had and would then expect to see me return the old Stealth heaters. Since I would receive the new heaters before sending them the old ones, I would never need to go without a heater in my tanks. I am still waiting to see those first heaters arrive but the message I got was very encouraging. I did not expect to see cash show up for my heaters so I suspect I will have a better overall experience than someone seeking cash without a receipt. I have not one receipt for any of my heaters but a returned heater with their name on it should be expected to carry some weight.

yeah, i got the same too. it worked great!

I think this recall only applies to the pro series as seen in the link. In my experience, the original stealth is the best heater I have ever used. Mine has withstood years of being abuse out of and in water, and it still holds temperature steady. Does anybody have a clue how long this recall lasts? I dont really want to turn the ones I have in.

It took me two weeks to get my replacements. They sent me visi thermal as replacements, then I had to mail mine back.

do they send you a label or something? there weren't any instructions or label... there was nothing the huge box other than a little 25 watt visitherm heater.

Lol...NO, they never sent me a label. I just put the old filters in the box, and taped the address from the invoice to the outside of the box. The FedEx people picked it up anyway. I didn't understand the whole "no return" label thing. My guess is that FedEx affixed their own label when the grabbed the box from my porch.

I went threw 2 of these heaters in with in 48 hours. The first one I got kind of cracked then stoped working after being in the tank for 6 hr. I got an new one that day. That one BLOW UP after 8hr. I heard a strange pop and water splash. I found my 2 Uarus that were in the hospital tank scared but ok. The heater was split and bits were everywhere. The blow some how craked my HOB filter box but the Glass tank was ok. it was a scary mess.

I returned mine to the store I got it from for a full refund both times.

When these heaters go they go FAST. Less then a day and mine broke and blew up. I wrote to the company about it. This happen like 10 months ago.

The heater was the new Stealth with the light up switch. My old Stealth heaters are still going strong . If you have one of these that broke just bring it back to the store let them deal with it. I am sure they know about the recall.

my teachers one detonated a few weeks back. 150 lts of water cory and tetra went everywhere it blew pretty much the entire side of the tank out.
