Stealing Souls In Ecuador (south America) - Part 1

Lovely pictures - thanks for sharing.

It brings back happy memories of my trip in 1993 going from Quito to Guayaquil, the Devil's Nose Railway anf the Galapagos. You must go back for that it's fabulous.

Bloo I'm always amazed at the quality of your photography
your pics are just amazing.

I'm sure the one above is more than worth of being entered in the Shell/NHM
wildlife photo of the year comp.
I really do hope you enter it.

Oops - just realised I have a whole list of "thank you's" to give!

TigerIssey, Lateral Line (thanks for the tip!), Barracuda518, troutfly (thanks for letting me know what the monkey was - I should have paid more attention to the guide!), blue acara

Bloo that looks awesome, i fly into Santiago in 2 weeks, in New Zealand at the moment got about 6 weeks for South America and still deciding where to go as its the last 12 weeks of my year travelling !! So excited tho we have booked in for the inca trek, what route did you take ??

Nice to hear from you :good: I only did Ecuador. Would love to do Peru and the Inca trail - but in hindsight glad I didn't this time round because I'm just not fit enough. And I've heard some horror stories - even from fit people!
It's certainly on my list of things to do when next in South America. But I've realised that I really need to take a few months off to do this (and have bucket loads of money). I've heard that Costa Rica also comes highly recommended (from many of my fellow travellers) though at a price (it's expensive).
If you think of doing any tours, I can highly recommend GAP travel - specialists in South America.

Thanks Keith :good: Unfortunately we couldn't do the Devil's Nose ride as we were there on New Years day and the train wasn't running. We were gutted  So with Galapagos, this would definitely be on my list of things to do when (not if) I go back.

Oh thanks Wolf - you're very kind with your compliments. No, I've never entered any competitions - I personally never thought any of my (what I call) snaps, good enough. They're pretty to me, but to stand up against professional photographers I think would be a bit daunting. On my (long) list of things to do this year, is a photography course - and learn what all those buttons do - and get away from my "auto button" mode. I'm possibly going to Bhutan later this year (still trying to sort out the logistics) - so watch out for some more travel photos later in the year.

And thanks for that link - I will definitely follow it up and enter (I see I just have a few weeks left) - even if it's just for fun - but thanks for your vote of confidence :fun:

I'll give some feedback when I get it !

I'm so glad that you will enter it, like you say even if it is for fun
but you never know, this could open many doors for you.
good luck :good:
