My 60L Cube

You know those little plastic fruit baskets? You can place some with some cut-to size pool noodles fit to the rim, small though, so that it floats, place some floating plants inside it. Or clamp it to the surface at the side, etc. It'll be too small for most adult fish to get through it but offer a safe refuge for fry to hang out. By the time the fry can't fit through the holes, they'd be too big for the adults to eat.

That's actually a really good idea!

So far I have a floating mess due to the snails lol

I've counted so far only 4 fry.

Upon further inspection, I've noticed a female cherry shrimp with a dark mass on her swimmerets. Eggs.

First female with eggs. Finally.

And when will males stop constantly harassing the female after birthing? It starts getting annoying even to me

Lol they won't. That's generally why it's recommended to do more females than males, to give the females a break.

I only keep males, because I don't want to be overrun with guppy fry. But if I did, I'd likely keep only 2 males and a good handful of females.

Damn. I got only a mix of fry instead of adults so I could breed them myself to see colours.

Scared of them harassing her to illnes then death. Not sure what to do at this point..

Only if these males actually used their brains instead of their gonopodiums to think... 🤦‍♀️

Which males are you talking about? 😎

I'd just let them be, nature is as nature is. If you have other females she's likely fine as they'll harass others as well, or if there's one particular male being an obnoxious turd more than anything and only going after her, then you can put him "in time out" by moving him to another tank or a container to give her a break

She's the oldest 'mate-able' female in the tank, so they might just clump up on her. But I'll leave them alone and hopefully she'll be alright. I'm hoping that there were some females born, I'd keep them for the sake of the males lol

😭

Those babies are cuties! Hope you can sort out the male/female situation. I'm no guppy expert, but with most species I've kept, the more females you have to spread out the males' attentions, the easier everybody has it.

I'm in no place right not to get some more females, so I'm only hoping the babies grow up to be more females than males :/

Take that approach and you'll end up with a bunch of little guppies who have extra fins and grow up to be banjo players...

I've managed to sell the dang snails on eBay pretty fast. Kind of regretting a bit and might need some holy water (probably)...

And the guplings are all doing okay and are now brave enough to venture out! :)
