The bacteria is entirely different between salt and fresh water.

I could see any one of those sands being ok as long as they don't have silicates in them(nitrate producers.)

What kind of sand is in your tropical tank?

Nope it was my who showed you them! but i would go with the higher wattage ones! 39w or 54w its a deep tank you will need halides to keep corals

Bit of an update,

Ive got the stand together now and the tank up on the top. Id upload pics but photobucket aint working for me? Any idea where else i can upload?

I need some advice on the pluming in of the sump...havent got a clue where to start to be honest! Im guessing the pics would help though

So...now i need a hand with getting it plumbed in! I have no idea where to start! There is a hole in the bottom of the tank towards the back, then a hole in the sump. A pump was included in the sale but im not sure what to use this for lol. Any help would be most appreciated!

that white pipe on your radiator cabinet is the overflow bit. That goes into the hole in the tank at the back corner. Then looking at that pic i would say the sump works right to left. Looks like there could be a DSB in the middle section if you want. Then the pump will go in the far left section to pump the water back up to the tank

Ok so i connect the white pipe up inside the tank, then where does it go? To the hole in the sump?

Where would the return pipe go from the sump to...??? The bottom side of that hole in the tank?

Im looking about for a simple diagram as to how the plumbing should work but i cant find anything.

Good luck trying to get the sump in now!!! also good luck trying get the sump in now with them L bractets there!!!!

The pump is the return pump to pump the water back! i did explaine it all too you when i was there!! :/ :X

lol well spotted gary. that sump isnt going anywhere now.

Yeah the white pipe connects inside the tank and then will need connecting up to the first chamber in the sump.
Then the return will either go up and over the top of the tank or through the base if theres another hole.

Oh ye of little faith!! The sump actually goes in and out no problems, i did check this before it was all put together.

I know i know, but ive been to sleep since then so have forgotten! lol.

Any idea whats happening with the Lid then?

Im confused....why would you go from the hole, inside the tank, up and over and down to the sump? Then run the return pipe up and over the back. What is the point in the hole?
