Kimber:

10 gallon plastic container (4 gallons filled)
java moss (25% coverage)

Smaller nest than last time, so I guess its a smaller batch. When I took Kimber out of the tank, I thought it was unsucessful as it does not look like she suffered any damage at all.

Enlisted a helper to assist in feeding while I am at work.

Its been a good day :D

Nice, ral. I have a feeling you'll get some real beauts out of that pair!

Hope so. The fish are doing their part... but the owner seems to be lacking in competence in the fry rearing part.

Seems like a small batch though. Have not seen more than two dozen or so. But the rest could be hiding in the moss :D

As near as I can tell... this is a reall small batch. Were talking two dozen, maybe less.

May I say what a beautiful pair of fish you have there. Especially Zuma. Fish with his colouring are a rarity where I live, we usually only get variations of red, white and blue.
Anyway, good luck with the young'uns.

Saw only three fry two days ago. Nothing past two days ... looks like this spawn may be a total loss. :-(

awww sorry to hear that Ral

Give it another few days though till you give up as you know how small these little devils are and they could be hiding. I recently thought a spawn was a no-go and was going to take the male out and clean, then set up the tank again with another pair but didn't have the time. A week after spawning I spotted a teeny fry in the tank and so whipped dad out and did water change and added microworms. Next day spotted another :hyper:

Am so glad I didn't ditch the water as would have lost 2 precious babies

I really hope there are some in there hiding from you :/

I hope so too... but will put them back in at the end of the month in since I want a larger spawn from this pair. Next time do, I plan to leave daddy in with his fry... he has produced two spawns and gets awfully depressed after each... I think he deserves the right to raise his own spawn.

Aww ral, I'm so sorry, you're so hard working, we just have to support each other, one of these days it will work out. Keep going, I think you're great and you have some gorgeous fish right there

That'd be hard, especially after all the work of conditioning.... :/
