as post says, just seen 3 snails in my tank, where did they come from, the tank is only about 4 weeks old, 1 week without fish and 3 weeks with a few fish

seen them about a week ago but forgot to post on here, since then, one of them has grown about double its size, still small but what do i do

if you have live plants and did not wash them thats where they came from. Some people like them some people dont.

Yes, as said, if you have live plants. That is where I got mine from which have since become what I like to call an infestation  Mostly common ones although I have recently noticed some Ramshorn looking ones which I didn't put in personally either.

you can either squish them as you see them. (prefered method)..... OR you can place a bit of lettuce, cucumber or crab meat inside the tank. leave over night and then remove hopefully snails are attached to it at this point. or you can but a few pakistani loaches to help eat them. but be warned they wont make much affect if you feed them too much. they will only eat snails if there is no other food source available at the time.

to prep cucumber, zuukini or lettuce. simply blach ont eh stove till it is soft and you are able to drive a fork through it easily. then attach to a rock or peice of wood or sumfing that sinks to the bottom...,with a rubber band....

if you dont want thema nd consider them a pest please act fast. because if tehy are a common snail. they can breed without a partner and you will have tons and tons of them all over the tank....

i hope i have helped you...

yes i got a couple that way too even tho i tried washing my plants.

i put one in a one gallon tank and named it swirly... for fun.. water snails are so interesting.

and i saw VERY TINY one in my tank, but now i lost it i dont know if another fish ate it or its just hiding from me.. but now that you say they can breed on their own i am a bit scared...

The most effective way to prevent ive found is to wash in water with a few drops of Waterlife sterazin. Never seen any in my tank but i do have a clown loach and he loves them

It is prolly from the plants although on 2 seperate occasions of my own and once with my friend we have been givin snail(s) with the fish at purchase. They accidentally got in the net and now are cleaning my tank:p
