Snails for keeping tank clean?

I was wondering if y'all thought one or two of these would be enough to keep my tank clean of algae?

Are you talking about the large apple snails or snails in general?
I thought that a couple of snails would do to clean the tank but I have ended up with an epidemic of snails. I have a post under tropical fish on page 2. I have received good replies as to how to minimise them.

It was a joke. Did you read the article I linked to? Those snails grow to size of a human hand.

Aren't they blacklisted? as far as pets I see no problem with them. I like big snails and if you had a large puffer theyd be great food.

They may keep a 1 gal tank clean but I dont think them small things can handle much more than that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Not with it just now - been in a panic for 3 days now - 3 Prelims today!!!!!

Don't bother putting them in the tank, just buy collars and leashes!!
