Yes they do jump, they can be very feisty.

Maybe get some netting or cellophane to put over the top of the tank. Ensuring you have put adequate air holes in them x

that would work fine.

some idiots like myself train thier bettas to jump for food. i include myself in this because i am guilty of training my female to jump for her pellet

^lol bless, I have images of the little betta jumping through a hoop for her dinner

Yeah they jump like crazy. One of my girls is called Lemming for her jumping, and i've lost a boy to it... never found his body so I think my cat ate him :(

Yes would be fun jumping though a hoop, might start training mine to jump though a fire hoop :) only joking :)

Deco - lots of plants. I would personally add 5-8 bushy live or silk plants. This is most natural for the fish and will look great.

Thank's for your Opinion and suggestion :)

Funny you said that as today a bought four silk bush plant very soft to the touch not put them in yet but tomorrow when doing a water change :) don't want to put a lot in as it's only a 6g tank and want him to have space to move. I would love to put some furn in my tank but got told it hard to control? as i was going to put some java furn or moss in my 28g tank.

I added a coconut hut to my tank today, it was originally for my BN catfish but my betta has taken a liking to it and hasn't let any of the other fish get a look in

They like plants but try to keep the top of the water clear,as they like to skim the tops x

Funny everyone talks about their's jumping, my male is the only one I have seen and that's when i put my hand in to move things around, or to suck out stuff with a turkey baster. He gets very happy to see my hand, or fingers, and loves to nibble on it:) he makes my day!

I have a 6 gallon tank with 6 silk plants in it. There is loads of swimming space and Azrael loves to hide in the plants and lie on the broad leaves near the surface.

Java fern is a great plant - quite slow growing, easy to look after and can be tied to rocks and wood if you like. The only thing to be aware of is that you must not bury the rhizome in the gravel. That is the thick, stem-like formation above the roots but below the leaves. Quite obvious when you see it.

Why is the condensation a problem? Fish tanks are made to cope with it, when you're heating the water, there's nothing you can do about it. Just leave the lid on :good:
As to swimming space, bettas are not active fish, and a tank full of plants will still give them plenty of room.
