Silly Question Can Betta Jump

Male Bettas are very active fish, esp if they are happy and healthy

They are active but don't need the same amount of open water as a species such as large barbs, which I think is the point ellena was making. A healthy betta certainly should be moving around and interested in what is going on but they're pretty lazy compared to a lot of other fish!

that would work fine.

some idiots like myself train thier bettas to jump for food. i include myself in this because i am guilty of training my female to jump for her pellet

I wanted to teach mine to jump but as I leave the lid off when doing water changes I don't want to risk it. I'd rather he didn't.

Funny everyone talks about their's jumping, my male is the only one I have seen and that's when i put my hand in to move things around, or to suck out stuff with a turkey baster. He gets very happy to see my hand, or fingers, and loves to nibble on it:) he makes my day!

Mine is extatic to see my fingers anywhere near his tank, expecially in his tank.

I've not seen my Male jump, he tends to swim around neurotically but the female, she likes to hide and she has jumped out of the surface a good few times the last 2 days!
