*Sigh*

I just got my first Betta on September 2nd. I got him from a place called Zamzows (I don't know if they have them other places besides here...) and they had all of their bettas in little cups too. When I bought mine, they guy offered to go get a fresh cup of water from one of their established tanks for me to take him home in. I let him because the water Tonka, my new betta, was in was pretty gross.

The thing I noticed about Wal-Mart's bettas is that they are not as colorful as those from other places. Most of them have the orange/peach/white on their faces and bellies. To me, that means they aren't as healthy. :/

But congrats on saving yours. Just know that everytime you buy a fish from them, they buy more to replace the ones that you buy, and mistreat the new ones just as they did the old ones. It is a never ending cycle.

I gave up on getting fish from wal mart if I get fish I drive the 50 miles to get the fish that I want, or I order them online
Good for you, juanvaldez!

The only way to stop WalMart and other such stores from their continued abuse is to stop them from making a profit on the fish.

If everyone stopped buying their fish they would eventually stop selling them and stick to supplies.
