Hello, My betta PT, (Prince Terrian) has somthing wrong with him, and I don't know what!

He's really pale for one. He looks like he has trouble swimming to the bottom of his bowl, then when he gets there, he floats back up on his side and kinda floats at the top of the water but in a normal position. (not on his side)

I might be able to snap some pictures later, or grab a video. I feel so bad for my little guy! Not to mention I'm already trying to get his tail to grow back. :/ Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks for your help!

I might soundl like a horrible betta owner, but I honestly don't know. I change the water in his bowl daily, and he's been fine untill the last day or so.

I read on bettatalk.com (I think... :/ ) and from their discription, it kind of sounds like swim bladder..?

Hmmm... when can you get a test kit? Do you add dechlorinator when you change his water? It has a little of sbd symptoms, but with sbd the swim bladder gets infected or something, and the fish can't swim staright (that's what the swim bladder helps them do) so I'd imagine that the fish shoudl be on his side or not siwmming straight to have swim bladder. Try posting in the emergency section- you might get more help there.

I add Aquasafe when I change his tank. I can probably get a test kit tomorrow.

Thanks for your help!

No problem... Aqua Safe is good, I use it for my community tank as well. Try feeding him a cooked, de-shelled pea, I know it helps with constipation, maybe that's what's wrong with him... sorry, can't think of anything else.

my guy has swimbladder, i have put him into a 2.5 gallon tank i had with about 2" of water and a small filter to help add extra oxygen, its worse on my guy as he is on his side, i fed him some pea he seems a little better, he is currently sitting beneath his plant which is helping him keep his balance. hope your guys ok :good:

my guy is loads better today so i strongly suggest you give it a try. lower the water level, added a bit of methylene blue and stress coat, added a filter for extra oxygen and gave him some pea i have a plant in there too which he leans against sometimes :good:
