Well its happening!
Tank specs:
12 gallon tank.
2'x12"x10".
two heaters - the tank is now (and has been for a week) 80°F
Two powerheads.
Standard lighting(will upgrade in near future)

Water Specs: N/A at this present moment.

Cost:
I already had the tank so that cost nothing (It's actually my very first tank i bought when i was nine)
2lbs/1kg of Live sand - $5
AZOO 3 in 1 Specific Gravity/Salinity/Conductivity Metre - $39
8 pounds/3.6kg of Corallife Marine Salt - $40

Total: $84

I've just added the salt and sand so tank is abit cloudy and i havent been able to take a SG reading. The sand has also come with a few bits of LR but not alot,(less then 1kg).
I'm going to buy 6kg/13lbs of LR next week. I first have to get my SG levels right etc.

Future Stocking List:
10 various Snails
2 Cleaner Shrimp
1 Amphiprons Occelaris (False perc Clownfish)
1 Nemateleotris Magnifica (Firefish)
1 Gobidon Okinawae (Yellow Goby)
1 Chrysiptera Parasema (Yellow-Tailed Blue Damsel)

Corals:N/A

WOOOO! So excited to see it up and running

Looks cool...if you get a yellow tailed damsel in the future, make sure you add it last. SH

Thanks :)
Yup I kind of put them in the order i was going to buy them and put them in.

the SG Level is currently at 1.023 :)

Day 3

SG: 1.023
Temp:80°F - I'm thinking of lowering to 78°F

The bits of rock i got actually included:
Dead Button Polyps
A small dead peice of a hard coral
and a dead snail
:p

I will wait a few more days before adding cured LR.

DD

fine, dead rock :p

Will get pics, but they're stupid.

Day 5

Everything normal.

I have a lighting Question:
My current globe is a
Sylvania Gro-Lux F18W/GRO -T8 (exactly what it says)

I have two of these
what do i need to upgrade them to if i want soft corals?

Thanks

DD

thats like almost 10 watts a gallon isnt it? He would be ok with a single 65 watt bulb in a ten gallon tank. Petsolutions.com has them on sale like 20$ cheaper than DFS.

Thanks SH and JJ :)

I'll start off with these for now, since they're fine for most soft corals.

But i will definitly upgrade in the future :)

DD

I got 5.4Kg/13-14lbs of Live Rock! Full of coraline :D

Looks good so far, just have to wait for the Diotam and algae bloom to happen and then i will add inverts, then fish :)

Cost:
5.4kg/13-14lbs of Live Rock - $60
2lbs/1kg of Live sand - $5
AZOO 3 in 1 Specific Gravity/Salinity/Conductivity Metre - $39
8 pounds/3.6kg of Corallife Marine Salt - $40

Total: $144
