Show Off Your Tank!

Hi, it is NOT a heated tank, all the fish live happy at room temp (no heater).. (also the danios are from the coldwater section (pets@home)..

meh, they might say coldwater but in actuality they are temperate.... however, a temperature of around 20C should be ok as being temperate fish they can live in slightly colder waters than other fish

Well it's time to get fish tomorrow so today it was planting,adding bogwood and 98% water change time.

It needs to clear up a bit as obviously it was a large change and there are in places a few bits of plant still floating about. I took out about 25l with the gravel cleaner which got most of the loose stuff off the sand.

The heater on the left will not be in the tank full term. It's only because I did such a large change and the water is cold. I've tried using the kettle but the tank just got filled with limescale chunks!

Looking good DBT.
Big tank like that I wouldn't use a kettle, just the hot tap. I've had a few ammonia spikes lately and if you have to change 80% of the water a kettle just doesn't cut it. Hot tap, no issues with my fish. My corys are laying eggs so no quality problems.

Well, I haven't done mine yet, so here goes! (apologies in advance to the poor quality pics; I only have my phone camera!)

My son has named all our tanks, so here they are;

The Edge (my son's);

23l, three male Endlers, two ghost shrimp, MTS and assassin snails. Light looks bright, but as you can see, it's rubbish for plants!

The Pool (the kitchen tank);

100l, silvertip and black phantom tetras, panda cories and a 15 yo clown plec. Really need to sort out that Indian fern...

The Black and Green (my bedroom tank);

240l, false neons, marbled hatchets, two BNs, a royal whiptail and some glass cats

The Deep (one of the living room tanks);

220l, Congo tetras, CW21 and adolfoi cories and Gorky, my angel; that purple shawl doesn't live there, btw; I was trying to cut out some of the glare from the lights!

The Shallows (the other living room tank);

200l, tiger barbs, zebra loaches, an L052 and currently a small rescued gibbi
