Here's the more dominant male Honey G in my 20 gallon:

Are they as yellow as they look in the photos? Stunning!! I am starting to really love gouramis now that I have some. They followed my finger all over today.

I wonder where I could fit a honey. :drool:

They're great fish & even better color in person.

I just took some more pics and I'll post some if I can. The dominant males dorsal fin is very long & tapers to a dark, clear silver point. He's near impossible to photogragh though, he's literally non stop moving.

Pardon the crappy pics as he won't stay still but here's some more of the dominant male...............

Are you using the original lighting on your 20g? It's so bright. My 10g is very dull and yellow. I don't know anything about lighting except how to pick out whole new hoods :p and I want to buy new bulbs for my 10g with plants.

I don't think I can put any Honeys anywhere currently. I have the 46g for the three spots, and 75g for angelfish. Maybe at some point. There are always $1 gallon sales at petco and I have a spare Marineland Penguin 350 filter. :p

Your fish choices are lovely :good:

Oh I could see the point a little...

He won't stay still I tell ya! He's all over the place non stop.

Zach's 20 gallon with the river rock substrate has a ZooMed T5 with 2x24 watts for a total of 2.4 watts per gallon. My 20 gallon has a glass top & the regular T8 15 watt bulb fixture that originally came with Zach's tank. It's terrible. The light sand substrate & the light colored background make it look lighter than it really is. I plan to get a Nova Extreme dual T5 2x24 watt fixture as soon as I can find one in stock.

Well the pictures look great with the lightness. I used the same sand as you and it looks like beach sand in my big tank. I have T-5 bulbs there, but it is a deeper tank and maybe not as much light hits it.

Do you have any problems with your plants and the high lighting? Are you using ferts?

The plants in all my tanks are growing great, although the ribbon plant in my 20 gal sand is starting to show signs it's ready to go. It was a matter of time anyway since it's not a true aquatic plant. The Wisteria I transplanted to that tank is also fading a bit. All the anubias, Bacopa & Swords are doing great in all of the tanks. The Wisteria in my 36 gallon grows about 6 inches every couple of weeks and the Anubias show new leaves about as often.

I tried some fert tabs awhile back but I didn't really notice too much difference. I don't want to start getting into CO2 yet................

The honeys are really nice so are the rams :hyper:

Eminem CAN make anything rhyme!! And he actually has a great voice unlike all those dumb rappers who can't actually sing!

I was just wondering because of the lighting. You must have a good balance now then. It's not really complicated with the co2 AFTER you have it setup. Estimative Index is easy, and everything else is on a timer :) {for future reference}

That's good to know. I'd put a Co2 system on my 36 gallon first since it's the biggest. I'd just be happy to up the lighting fixture in the 20 gallon sand, even if I got a retro kit for the existing housing.
