What is the quickest, safest, and easiest way to ship fish? I have 40+ Black and Dalmation Molly babies and I'm going to be shipping some of them. Any advice is appreciated. :)

Hey...

I'm not 100 percent sure, but this is how I saw the Pet Store recieve their shipment of fish. (Hundreds) while I was shopping..

They put the fish and water in the plastic bags, added the air, then tied it. (just how they give them to you when you buy fish) Then they had styrofoam shipping boxes taped shut.

So thats probablly what I would try.

Quickest would be overnight air, Fed Ex is a decent carrier, check their policy on live fish though. Safest is double bagged in a styro shipping box, place the first bag inverted into the second bag, this eliminates any corners which could trap the fish. Pack newspaper or other packing in to keep the bags from shifting inside the box. Don't feed for 12 hours before shipping, as they are fry. Adults fast for 24 to 48 hours, depending on the size & type of fish. Bag with 1/3 water, 2/3 air. This time of year include 1 small heat pack, tape it to the box lid.

Easiest way would be find a lfs to ship them for you.

You might also look into getting some Breather Bags. I've never tried them, but have heard others mention them. I guess they are water tight but not air tight. This allows you to fill them with water and leave no room for air for things to slosh around. Supposedly oxygen and CO2 can get thru the bag and allow the fish to breath normally provided there is plenty of air around the outside of the bag.
