Ok, I'm attempting my second spawn. The pair has been conditioned for probably a week now but she was/is so full of eggs and bars and he built a motttther nest.
So I've released her 3 times and he's just chasing her around and I know it's because she wont do anything he wants her to, she's so stubborn. There's tons of hiding places in there but the tub is a 5 g. I wonder if that's too small? It's filled about 4 inches with water and the heater. Right now she's just sitting there with her fins clamped but she's so fat she can't even balance properly. I've left her in there for like 10 mintues now, I wonder if I should take her out a 4th time, but in the vase she's totally ready and colourful and wants to go with him. I know it takes time but I don't want her scared. Any help?

Aww they just spawned twice but she doesn't seem very interested and no eggies came out.
Poor guy keeps on trying but none of her eggs are coming out. Hmmm :/

WOOHOOOOOO SOME EGGIES!

Holy Moly, I'll get some pics soon. They are doing it like pros! She dropping about 12 eggs at a time which I think is awesome for a little gal like her , and he's not giving her a break either! Oh my, I could be here for a while but this makes me happy. I've waited for sooo long for this :) :) :)

Well they are done, figures right when I go to eat they are finished, but wowzers I got me a whole nest full as far as I can see :) :) :) I'll keep ya updated

 Alright! I don't think I'll ever attempt to spawn bettas, but I sure do enjoy reading about the efforts of others. Good luck!

I'm so happy for you. I read about your last breeding attempt and felt so bad for you. But there's always trial and error. But definitely keep us updated with the second one! I wanna see pictures! (Along with everyone else :) )

lol wuv I know.
By the way, my three 5 day old beebees made it home with me this weekend! They are in the jar waiting to be put in something bigger. I'm waiting until I get the right temperature :) Tough buggers they are, they were hard to find in that 20 g tub but made the trip fine :)

Oh I'm pumped for these new guys. I tried 2 pairs this week, over and over and as a result have 2 chopped, chewed up girls :( but I'm sooo happy that it finally worked and this was my fav girl. I'll post pics, I tried her for the first spawn but she was just stressed, but this time she was awesome. I think I should have around 60 in that nest but I won't say for sure. It's pretty full under that cup! I'll have to see sunday night if they hatched :)

Thanks everyone! Wish me some more luck that they will hatch!

lol arrow, I guess we'll have to wait and see about that. But I do have 40 gallons of growout so that's a start :p I don't know if all of them will make it anyway so we'll have to wait and see :)

Thanks you guys are awesome, I'm really excited to see what will happen when I go back to my dorm tomorrow. I'm trying to have some hope of having some beebees.
The 3 that are with me now are doing grand in their little 1 gal tupperware with the heater in it. Don't worry water is just 80F, they are content.

Wohoooo I just got back and guess what????? We got lottttttssssss of fry :) For me and the lil fish that's awesome. There must be at least 40-50 which I was hoping for. I really hope these guys will make it!! I think I have to clean the water though because there's a few dead ones and other dirt on the bottom of the tank. Is this a good idea?

Hopefully I'll have better luck with these guys! :) :)

Woohoo!! Congrats redbetta, that's awesome
