Second Attempt 110L

Yeahjust hammer them. My Hrp's would almost spawn on command with a cold water change. Haha.

not sure I am 100% behind this scape and have been thinking of redoing it. Here is what I am planning on doing (wont be for a while)

potential.jpg

obviously the left side will have more plants, wasn't really sure what to add. The right hand side will be sand (for the rams to be able to dig more easily) with a few rocks which will leed up the hill on the left side.

Really want to work on my hardscapping skills so any input on this idea would be great.

thanks Jay

Mate the best thing to do is buy your hard scape, sit out in the sunshine one day and just play about with it, once your happy take a pic so when you scape you can tack it to the front of your tank and get it right again. I normally do this and it helps a lot if you add any mosses to your scape as you have to take them out and put them back over and over.

yeah cheers mate it was an idea I had in my head, wanted to get it down so that I could buy the hardscape from what I imagined rather than buying stuff and then having to figure out a different scape.

Sunshine? What's that again? I reckon you could be waiting a while.

Paint pic looks great btw, looking forward to see it come into fruition! Sure the Rams are gonna love it mate.

Finding hardscape can be fun, but the best bits are usually bought at the end of the day. Costs a few quid though, that's the down side. :/

yeah mate it is expensive, was going to look in local forest for the wood, and buy the rocks.

The rescape was part for me part for the rams, and as for sunshine I believe, possibly, maybe we may be in for some kind of summer starting mid way through next week!!

Well made a start on the Re-scape, still needs plants, was thinking some Microsorum pteropus 'Narrow' and some moss for the wood but unsure which moss to choose?? the glass also needs a good clean(although tank is old and contains scratches). Decided to try some tropica 1-2 grow after glowing references from certain members, went with some Eleocharis sp. 'mini', a hairgrass that doesn't grow beyond 6cm in height and generally 3-5cm excellent!!! The original HC I had has seen better days after some serious neglect (work and other commitments have limited my maintanence last 2 weeks or so) so will probably replace with either some more 1-2 grow hc, Utricularia graminifolia or some Glossostigma elatinoides. May look to add some more wood too.

Pics of work so far, sorry they are so poor had to use phone and glass needs a serious clean!!

WOW WOW WOW!!!!!!!

How amazing is that?! Top work mate, very professional. Once it has grown in a little it will look truly amazing!!!

1 thing though... And it's my problem not yours... I prefer scapes that run left to right rather than right to left.

Get some better pics up once the glass is clean.

Cheers mate, looks a hundred times better in real life, will try get some new shots tomorrow evening. I also prefer a scape that runs left to right.... my bed is to the left side of the tank and I can lie in bed and look through the left side of the tank hence why the hill is to the right.

1 bit of bad news it seems all the stress of the rescape has been to much for the female ram, she is struggling and it seems like 1 side of her gill is very very open... don't know how this has happened and it doesn't look like she will survive (gutted!!!), all other fish are fine.

Any views on which plants to use from the ones i've suggested?? defo going to have to remove the old HC a couple of weeks of negligence has ruined it!! grrrr

Sorry to hear about your ram, I hope she pulls through.

The new scape is gorgeous :)

The Utricularia looks interesting. HC and Glosso are more common, so maybe something rarer would be of interest.

Gutted to hear about the Ram. :(

Thank you for your kind words, really hope she does too, she is a little stunner but it's not looking good :-(

Yes I was thinking the same thing, may give it a go.

Yes i'm gutted too mate it's strange as everyone else is fine... unless she injured herself on the hardscape some how... i'm unsure
