Schottayb's Juwel Trigon 190

Personally, i would do it like this:

Calculate the amount of fertliser you need for a 200 litre tank per week. Divide by 7 and thats how much you dose per day. Then each week carry out a 50% water change. Then you're working with numbers that are easier to deal with for someone of your intelligence.

Then if this doesn't seem to be working address the situation by adding more/less according to conditions.

Simples.

I've just given you what it says on the tin so work it out brains!

I'm thinking, with the 2 rams, 2 keyholes and 2 angels... what else could I possibly add? Apart from schooling fish? Also thinking of a pleco, but whats a good looking pleco that doesnt out grow my tank? :S

BN? Which schoolers are you adding? As for a Plec, take a look at the sticky in the Plec section.

What about going out on a limb and going for Glass Catfish?! :hey: Now they're proper shoalers!!!

After reading the jargon you wrote about the fertiliser i would go with 1 cap full every other day then do a 50% waterchange then carry on dosing at that rate. Doing it this way if you want to increase then you can do it every day.

I'll go with doing it like that then, 50% weekly water change, doing one cap full every other day. PHEW!

#41#### weekly water changes, never normaly do them that oftern lol. Whats the harm in not doing it weekly if your water is good? :S

I'll take a BN off you if you want to drop it off... you can take my bunch of pants fish off my hands that way ;)

I'm unsure, but it is recommended by everyone so there must be a valid reason.

So you want a BN for free, dropped off and all i get is some rubbish fish that you're wanting rid of? :shout:

Are you using Excel? I reckon you would be better off with Seachem Flourish Plant Supplement. Isnt excel is just liquid C02, meaning you need to dose ferts aswell..

Id say maybe some Dwarf Sag, for the front Schottay, looks like you have a nice bit of room there

I had it given to me ages ago, never used it lol. I will get some of that you have mentioned then. Would I have to use both that way?

The front is empty all round, was hoping to fill the corners in and maybe grow into the middle :good:.

Thanks the advice mate :)

Just probably best to just use a bit of fert, that one I mentioned, otherwise it all gets a bit confusing and high tech. I just put some API Root Tabs in my sand, still waiting on the results, but im sure my Vallis is growing (or im just mental and am seeing things haha) im measuring it against a piece of blu tack that was left on the wall behind the tank LOL

Yeah Sagittaria Subulata, (can get it on ebay) is great for that, plus you always get a mix of sizes, so you could use the taller and shorter ones as you wish

nice tank love your angel fish they look great :good:

I'll give this a go. I don't want to get confused and high-tec . I used to have some API Root Tabs never. Never used one as I didn't have a planted tank back then so I threw them away argh!
