Schottayb's Juwel Trigon 190

Cheeky!! I've got a fellow forum member sending me more of her top quality plant cuttings tomorrow ;).

I'll probably go the LFS Friday and grab another 4 bunches. I might try some carpeting plant for the front of the tank... maybe... BUT WILL IT SPREAD?!?! :'(

I tried some hair grass, and hated it. But thats just me. I would rather use some mossed up wood in the forground. Although mine seems to be full of rocks and wood atm. LOL!!

I'm the opposite lol. I had Java Moss on wood in my shrimp tank, now don't get me wrong it looked good and was low-maintance for that tank. But in a main tank it's too much effort keep trimming and keeping it good lol. Shrimp don't mind it being a tad messy :p.

I was going to try Flame Moss on my redmoor wood at one stage... but hmm :\

Haven't heard of that! Looks nice but I bet it's a pain to grow (shut it!)

I might try get some better pictures of my tank tonight if I can. Need to get the digi camera off my mother! lol

Ok heres some poor pictures I've just took on my iPhone so quality is pants!!

Any comments, suggestions, tips, criticism is welcome guys! :) Thanks for looking! :good:

Looking good mate, The lighting seems to give the fish a very nice look. I wouldn't change the tubes. I'm sure the Ferrei will grow fine. Mine is and i'm not doing anything special other than pressing the button twice a day like i said

The Keyholes, Rams and Angel look brilliant. Loving the cave and the moss balls. It's coming along nicely. Should look good with the new plants.

:good:

Cheers
Moaning Toad.

And don't you realise how much effort i put into growing my plants? I press the light button twice a day you know!!!
I don't even do that... woo for automatic timers! I do have an alarm set on my phone every day to remind me to dose the liquid carbon and ferts though. Even then I still sometimes forget! Growing plants is hard!

I want to upgrade to the Juwel Trigon 350 already
I've always wanted a Trigon 350. If we move to another house where I could actually fit one in I shall be buying one for a marine setup I think. Expand the horizons a little lol.

One word: wife!
Just dont tar us all with the same brush lol. Even my man-wife does not demand bubbling volcanoes! Haha ;)

Cheers
Moaning Toad.
 lmao!

Is it better to dose a small ammount of ferts per day rather than per week then?

I also use a timer, Haven't got time messing about pushing buttons !

Thanks for the replys, do love those fish I photo'ed! Just need a good group of small fish to top it off... (and a lot more plants!) :good:

I've recently brought some Flourish Excell (Seachem?) How much of this should I dose if I do it per day?

I haven't looked in to it yet as I'm finishing off my old bottle of ferts that I've always dosed weekly :( no wonder my plants take forever to grow!

"On initial use or after a major (> 40%) water change, use 1 capful (5 mL) for every 40 L (10 gallons*). Thereafter use 1 capful for every 200 L (50 gallons*) daily or every other day. Dosing may be slowly increased in high-growth aquariums. For smaller dosing please note that each cap thread is approximately 1 mL."

That to me doesnt even LOOK English!!

So: I do a 40% water change then add 5ml per 40L.

But then after that, I use 1 capful (my tanks 190L, it says 200 but eh should be good) DAILY?
I can add this the NEXT DAY, after doing a 40% water change and adding 5mL per 40L the day before?

You MUST keep doing 40% water changes weekly with this or what? :S

I hate math!
