I bought a mini heater for my 1.5 gallon but am a little worried about heating it since the tank is so small and it is acrylic. It is going to serve as my hospital tank. Is it safe to heat a small acrylic tank? Thx.

if it has an over head light and a lid i think it will be ok, i have a 2.5 with a light right over the top with no heater

Thx, but I need to keep it nice and toasty warm - at least 78 for him. He's been in the that temp in the big tank for a long time and the change would be too shocking for his already weakened system.

If the heater has a thermostat (turns on and off when required) it should be perfectly safe.

I heat a 1.5. gallon betta tank with a small 25 watt heater.

I've used a regular submersible heater in pretty much the exact same tank as you're describing, a 1.5 acrylic betta tank.
It was in there for almost two years and it worked fine :good:
