well this is an old 20 gallon i got a couple years ago from freecycle.

i never used it, it moved to the UK with me and got a new life.

The fake wood had to go.

I made this for my 3 year old who wants a tank of her own, we arent going to put any real plants in it, so I went with the LED's, which would probably be to weak for real plants. Im going to let her and my wife "decorate" this tank so I see a spongebob figurine, a no fishing sign, and maybe a bubble diver in this tanks future. it'll be good not to have as much maintenance as i do on my planted tanks.

I think that looks really nice....I am a big fan of recycling & freecycle is a brill web site.

I really like the hood....very inventive....I havnt seen that done before so well done.

Regards

Mark

It looks great! Well done on the imaginative use of guttering - I would not have thought of that! And well done on freecycling a fish tank - I've been using freecycle for years and not once has a fishtank come up so congrats! :good: :good:

thanks for the kind words guys! The gutter idea was something I saw on youtube, (different gutter style) and this is what I could get at B&Q. The end caps look nice and give it a 'finished' look i think. cost me about 12£ for the materials. the LED lights were £18 or so on ebay. pretty happy with it all.
:hey:

A job well done CA. I have yet to do a gutter hood but have read about them on many places including right here on TFF.
