Rescaped My 35L Badis Tank - Inspired By Wills

Thanks kiriyama :)

I`ve had a look at some pics of the frogbit and have bought some off of a Seller on ebay. I reckon it`ll look nice with long roots coming down into the tank :good:

If you have some in with your shrimp they will climb in the roots :fish:

I received the frogbit this morning from ebay and it actually looks ok in the 35L :good:

It`s just a pain that the roots are getting stuck on the top of the branches as the filter moves the water round the tank :look:

pics ??
I got one lovely piece of floating lettuce the other day think i may get one or 2 more bits 2moro. I am a big fan of the long roots hanging down. One of my females has clammed it as hers :hyper:

I`ll sort out some pics tomorrow, the camera battery is on charge at the mo. :good:

Apart from the roots getting stuck on the branches I`m getting to like the frogbit in the tank the more I look at it. :)

good good. I am looking 4ward to seeing the pics.
Just a suggestion BTW i think as u me and wills have all just took on the challenge of sp Badis i think we should all enter the FOTM comp with one of them. Just popped a pic of my male (Tango) in for it.
:hyper:

Well I`m not sure about Wills ones as I don`t know how they`re getting on but on the colouring alone yours would knock spots off mine!! :hyper:

I`m not sure but I`m putting it down to him being a young male who maybe hasn`t quite got to that sexual aggressive stage yet, hopefully his colour will brighten up a bit more soon as he looks a bit dull to me sometimes to be honest :/

maybe one of your females then. Is he having trouble with his tank. not herd from him in a few days.

I got really fed up with the wood floating to the surface so I`ve siliconed them to a piece of slate and decided to use some Xmas moss to see if I can scape the tank to look as though it has a tree in it.
I have to wait for a couple of days for the silicone to cure but here`s how far I`ve got with the 'Tree'. Hopefully the moss will grow and I`ll get the look in the tank that I`m after

That looks really good. I still need to attempt this some time.

Thanks. Not sure how it`ll turn out though but fingers crossed it does grow ok :look:

If it does grow, then it'll look great.

The first pic i thought "eh, odd shape for a tree".. then when i saw how you'd attached the moss it made perfect sense and looked really good.

possibly worth attaching some smaller twig like branches for a bushier effect??

Nice one lisa :good:
Personally, I'd have used Flame Moss instead, but thats just me. I'm sure the XMas moss will look just fine :good:

Thanks :)

I`m having to mist spray the moss so that it doesn`t dry out while the silicone is drying, but hopefully once it`s back in the tank it`ll take hold and grow ok. B-)

really like the scaping, and that wood is very nice

ow wow that looks cuffin cool. almost like a bonzi tree. That should look very cool when its in and floating. I had a similar idea but my main bit of wood that i would attach moss to has the rest of the wood leaning in it. removing it would destroy the hole scape. i simply just lifted the wood slightly of the glass and taped a bit of the moss in the gap and the pulled the rest of the moss over it. My stump now has a fluffy hat and is starting to spread across the top of the tank. :hyper:
(Tango is not doing as well as expected in FOTM)
