In essence, I note that aproximately 15/20 mods are appointed. Most of them are active, (even if for 4 minutes every week), but looking at the (current) contributions of "Lateral Line"..... I personally think That Colin_T has a bigger role to play.

I recommend that Colin is appointed as Mod to this forum.... Lets vote Yay or Nay!!...Personally,.... I think Colin is one of the most knowledgeable and experienced persons on this forum.... ( lookit his profile & vote)..... "Lateral line" has been inactive for many moons.

Choosing a mod has nothing to do with the members. Just because one isn't "active" doesn't mean he hasn't been around. They can sign in invisible. That being said, it is up to William (where ever he is) and the other mods to chose a member to become a mod, not up to us.

Good!... But as members of this forum, I feel that if we can have input of who should govern our interests.... If we can get enough support for a specific recommendation, surely the mods will look at it and consider it.

Sorry people.... I made a grave mistake here (& sorry Lateral Line)..... The replacement person I had in mind was Great Lakes...... He is the mod that has been inactive for a very very long time...... So my quest is to replace Great Lakes with Colin_T

..... Will appreciate if one of the mods can change the title to Great lakes in place of Lateral line.

You should be able to change the title if you use the full edit button on your original post.

1. Great Lakes was a mod in the marine section so how are you going to replace him with colin.

2. What makes you think Colin_T would be a good mod his knowledge isnt that great compared to other people on this forum, you need to look at the bigger picture when taking mods into account like I wouldnt make a good mod as I am to straight to the point and will argue and the "friendly" pact on here wouldnt like that and get upset, saying that im happy as a member. Just because someone either knows the latin name of a fish and can google it and type it on a forum doesnt mean "damn they should be a mod." Most people on here know the same amount of info as everyone else if they have been on here 6 months+ because all the threads are the same. And the majority of which are about community fish you know the people who hang around in tropical chat. The people who specialise in certain fish usually stick to there own areas and dont grace the tropical chat forums as its all about 1" per gallon argument and what can I stock in a 10g or can I add another fish crap. I could spend all day in there repleatedly answering the same questions over and over again and then you would think oooo he should be mod or someone else could do that very thing doesnt make them mod material does it just means they have to much free time on there hands to talk about guppies and gouramis.

Firstly, Jimmyringo... I,ve tried the "full edit" thing, & stil cannot change the title......

Secondly,.... Mark7616.... Yes, we all are reasonably knowledgable on this forum, but I have noticed that very often, some of the topics reach page 15 with 25 views & no one is prepared to commit themselves to an answer....

It is invariably these that Colin goes the extra mile and not only answer the question,.. but elaborates to the extent that all our knowledgable persons can also get benifit out of the reply...

That is a characteristic, which is not observed in all of our mods.... Whether "Great Lakes" was marine section or not,.... He/she is inactive and leaves scope for application of a useful source.

In fact,... "Great Lakes" was last active in September 2006...... Does this validate a mod position??

can i just ask y u think we need another mod??? arnt the mods we have now that are active doing a good enough job??

I fully agree that they are handling it perfectly, but a positive decision must have been made that we're going to have "x" amount of mods,.... Since there are inactive mods,.... They should thus be replaced to upkeep the identified numbers...??
