I've finally managed to heve my evil severum removed, and open up the whole tank to the rest of them. I've added another plant (fake as real ones just get torn apart!!!) and a couple of bits of wood. I'm going to add some kind of tall(ish) rock feature to the left side of the tank, but haven't figured out how to do it yet. Anyway; heres the tank so far:

:D Nice tank.......Love the shovelnose!!
:lol: I'd just put a load of live shrimp in there that day. look at the size of his belly. Fat git!!!

Nice tank RVM,

Just thought I should let you know, the tank is 84G, just in case you have to use any treatment's in the future, other wise you will overdose you tank by about 56 Gallons.

An idea for building up the height of your tank decoration, build up loads of bog wood.

I like the bnacground too very nice.

Nope not 84g. 150x50x70=525000 cubic centimetres.
525000cc is 525 litres.
1 litre = 0.264172051 US gallons
0.264172051x525=138.69g

Round it up just for ease of typing; that is 140g by my calculations!!!

Oh, I have just worked out by your calculations and I have come up with the following for our tank, could you just double check them for me please, cause I have been told otherwise.

201 X 51 X 79, it works out at 810 litres, and 214 G, it does not sound right to me.

Are you sure about the measurements. I have your tank as 201 x 51 x 70.5.
I use rounded figures to make it easier!!!!!!!
200x50x70=714000.
Then to do it the easy way, type in a google search "714000 cubic centimetres in gallons" and you get 188g!!!
That is in US gallons though, UK (Imperial) is 157g

Oh yeah one other thing as well, do you have a problem with the heat kicked out by the light units on your tank? I don't have my heater turned on, and my tank hovers at around 27-28degrees?

Ah weird, thanks though, I have 2 X 300 W heaters that were with the tank, both are set to 25 D, and obviously they turn themselves off when the temp is reached.

They do kick off some heat, our lounge has never been so warm, there are 4 bulbs so not suprising on the heat. not a problem though.

One thing we have done recently is to add some Blue Moonlight LED's so when the main lights go off they come on. We got them from e bay and were about £15. Very good and look fantastic especially as the Tank is so Deep, would recommend them.

Also good to get a pond pump for water changes to pump the new water back in.

I bet your please with it. they are fantastic looking tanks.

Yep, it does look great, and I already took that advice from your other post. I have a 100 litre water butt and a pond pump for water changes, and I also have the moonlight LED's from eBay!!!! I find them a little weak though due to the depth, but they do look good at night thogh!!!

Cool,

We found them a little weak, but got 8 LED's and they are easy to position, once your eyes adjust though they are not to bad,

I like your substrate it looks like Grey / Black sand,? Is that right, and the plant on the left is good.
