Red tail question

Is it normal for the red tail shark to hide all day? Just wondering.

Yep its quite normal,they are cave dwellers and unless they see another fish of similar shape or colouring in their territory are quite happy just to sit in their cave.

my red tail is quiet the little what time he isnt being mean he is one of the 2 all day long at nite is when mine gets in to his prowling he chasing the rest of the fish all nite long but I love him he is a trip to watch.

I have a male and female in a 4foot tank and they chase each another all the time well each time they see each other they don't seem to be hurting each other and they won't attack the other fish in my tank cause they're huge B)

He also seems to rub himself on the plants and other things in my tank. Is that normal too?

The rubbing could be a sign of flukes.
