ok so i bought some cure for septemia(or something like that) but i am not sure if it will work befause what my fish (guppies)have is something like a red fin rot, like the very end of their tail is bright red and it slowly eats away at their tail.i was told earlier that it is an internal bacteria infection but i dont realy trust that anymore cuz now it is eating away at their tails. it starts with a red streak near the end of their tail and it forms into red fin rot

any idea of what it is would be great (i am already treating for internal bacteria)

Yes as a red edge to the tail is septicemia, but once it has progressed hard to cure, had guppys with red edging to the tail if you don't act fast they will soon diie.Good luck.

What fish do you have in the tank? Regular water changes with dechlorinator, small/half dose of aquarium salt, half dose of Melafix and Pimafix is usually the best method for treating finrot in my experience  . What sorts of foods are your feeding teh fish as well and how much plus how long do you leave the tank lights on a day? What is the gender ratio of your guppys?

roughly 2 females per male
8 females 4 males(not including 3 4 month old femalesthat are going out) 2 ghost shrimp
i leave the light on about from 7 am to 8 pm 15 watt bulb (one of those bar bulb thingys)

sorry for posting almost the same thing again(i had a post about this disease earlier) but i had not noticed that it was eating their tail

oh, and only my males have it and no females do
