my red devil is starting to turn black. His tail and fins are turning black so i thought it may be a disease or parasite, but then i noticed his sides were also turning black along with his underside. Is this common or does anyone have any suggestions? I have treated the tank for ick today and will follow up as the instructions say. Please help.

Is it a young fish? it is probably down to the genetics of the fish and so is a natural change

the fish is about 3 months old

Normal. Red devils will do that until 6-7". Sometimes quite a few times.
