Awwww no! I would send you some plants because I have so many but I don't know if they would make it through international shipping :(
I dont think they would. NZ is super strict on customs and disease control. That's why we cant take my dog, he would have to be in 9 months quarantine and that just wouldn't be fair to him.
Last time we were there I set up a 20 gallon for my cousin for his birthday with a betta and 4 white cloud minnows (before I knew better lol) and it cost almost $ 300 USD. The betta (plain veiltail) was like $20 and the white clouds were like $4 each

Maybe you could just have one small very well cared for tank with a few simple fish. Or perhaps you could get a job and use it to finance your fish keeping. They have McDonalds in New Zealand right?

Yup! We even have a burge you cant get elsewhere.... the kiwi burger lol. I would like to get a job. Maybe even at a pet store.

The frustrating thing right now is how spontaneous my parents are. We dont know if we will go or not. Last time we went for 3 months and had less than 2 weeks notice and I had to find a pet sitter who had experience with crabs, fish, cats and dogs in that time one who was also willing to take care of 3 tanks and a dog and cat for 3 months lol

Oh well it is what it is

Why would anyone just pack up and leave? How does that even work? Who has the cash for that
Well we had been saving for a long time for it and they weren't sure if they were going to do it or not... I have a lot of medical issues and they wanted to decide whether to put off my 3x weekly appointments or go and they last minute decided to go. We had been talking about it for months but the decision hadn't been made

I got sunburned today. It was overcast, I could barely even see the sun (this happens often in NZ but never here) in april in Washington. This NEVER happens.

I got sunburnt in August (late winter here) a couple of years ago. I went for my daily walk and got home cooked. People said it might have been solar flares or the hole in the ozone layer but I was fine one day and the next day I got toasted on my normal walk.
