Random Discussion

A little off topic;

From a google search, cracking knuckles doesn’t make your knuckle larger or cause any damage to your tendon.

My fingers now?? I have tendinitis on 3 fingers and also knuckle getting larger and hurt so bad that I have to go to see the doctor today.

I really hate doctor google, they always says that you’re going to have cancer
There's no such thing as off topic in the random discussion :)

Cracking joints on a regular basis can lead to early degeneration of the joint and potentially arthritis in the joint. This will cause the joint to become inflamed (swell up a bit) and hurt.

It's preferable to not crack your knuckles or any other joint if you can help it.

I completely agree popping your knuckles doesn’t damage your fingers.

I hate it when old people say “Don’t pop your knuckles, it will give you arthritis”. Uh... no it won’t.

I have done research on this, and it’s false; popping your nuckels doesn’t damage your cartilage.
Yeah I know what you mean, I hated when I was young and an old person would say, "Young man if you don't stop doing that you will go blind."...lol....:fun:

I know right...

“If you don’t stop doing that young man, you’ll have arthritis when you get my age”. *all in an old mans voice*

I am at work right now and I had a lovely 20 minute phone call about an hour ago with a group of phone scammers. Right off the bat I knew what was up when he introduced himself as "Robert Wells, Vice President of a government run company called "X' company", yet he sounded like he was a lifelong resident of Mumbai. Couple that with the delay that you get with international calls and his Golden Raspberry Award winning acting skills and a plot hole filled storyline asking for financial information and exact, round number amounts being needed ($5,000 exactly you say?). You're also going to transfer a couple hundred dollar bonus onto my paycheck for being so helpful? Fo' realz?! Ermuhgerd! You're on the other line with my GM at 3:10am, who oddly enough, isn't responding to my messages, which he always responds to within seconds when he's awake. Hmm... I love how casual a big VP of a government run major company refers to me as "bro".

Unfortunately, since I was at work, I had to remain professional. I am a big fan of YouTube scammer videos and I would have loved to have monkeyed with these guys and thrown out a few words and phrases I've learned watching said videos. But alas, I had to explain as politely, yet firmly as I could, that I'm not giving out ANY information and that this sounds like a scam. That one word, "Scam" resulted in "Mr. Robert Wells, VP" immediately disconnecting our phone conversation.

Darn.

You need an airhorn to give them an earful. They will quickly hang up.

I had a guy call my house some years ago saying he was from Microsoft technical support. I didn't have any problems with my computer and hadn't asked Microsoft for help. He wanted a heap of personal information before he could help me with my computer problems. After about 10 minutes of me refusing to give him any info I asked him for his name and contact details. He asked why. I said I wanted to call Microsoft and ask them to confirm who he was. He ummed and arhhed a bit before saying my name is something arather but I cannot give you my number. I said if you were legitimately employed with Microsoft, you would give me a contact number.

This went on for a few more minutes before I asked him to hold the line for a moment. He did and I yelled out to a friend in the house, "Hey Bob, have you traced this number yet?" My friend yells back, "Yeah we got it, we have cars on the way there now".

I went back to the phone and said "Hello, are you there?" No answer, the turd hung up on me.

I had another guy call me claiming to be from Microsoft support. Again I didn't have a problem with my pc. He also tried to get personal information from me. After about 30 minutes of him asking for info and me asking him for his info, neither of us got any. I said to him, I own an apple computer. He went "what?" I said "I own an apple computer dickhead and this call has been recorded and traced back to your address". He hung up. I never got another one of those calls from Microsoft support.

One of my favorites was this guy who called asking if I would like to go on a holiday. I said yes of course I do. We spent about 2 hours on the phone where he kept offering me this holiday and all I had to do was give him my drivers license number and passport details. At the time I didn't have a driver's license or a passport and I still don't have a passport now.

Any way this went on for a couple of hours with this guy offering me super discounted deals and offering to help me get a passport and a few other items I needed. Eventually he asked me if I worked and I said no, I am on a disability pension. He went "Oh fuplie you piece of crap. You just wasted 2 hours of my fuplie time and you don't have any fuplie money. You fuplie this and that and every name under the sun". I just laughed and said "If you had asked about my income at the start I would have told you I didn't have any money. Now can I have my free trip?" He hung up on me.

Scammers got my mother about 5 years ago for $1,200. Called her in the middle of the night saying they were from the parent company that owned the electric company that supplied power for our restaurant and bar. They told her that if she didn't pick up $1,200 in Visa gift cards and give them the info by midnight that power would be terminated and huge late fees would be accrued. So she did it. She drove an hour to our nearest town in the middle of the night in the middle of winter and bought these cards and gave them the codes. Then she called me at midnight (bar side was still open and I was working) to see if the power was still on. Of course she didn't tell me any of this had happened until after she had given him the money otherwise I would have handled it. I love my mother, but she is very naive when it comes to things like this.

I just got a bird kite ad on TFF

The weird thing is yesterday my friend talk about his eagle looking kite while I’m on TFF, I just feel like this isn’t the safest place now.

Is there anyway to delete my TFF cookies history?

Do you use a mobile device? They listen in to your private conversations.

Just delete your browser cookies, you can set most browsers to do this on closing all the tabs.
(Or you used to be able to.)

Or view eveything "in-private".

That's what I do, every time I turn off my laptop I delete cookies and all my history. If you are using a phone, I'll have to leave that to someone else.

But yes, mobile devices do listen to what you are saying, my son has proved that by mentioning wanting to buy something and next time he loaded Amazon there was a listing for the item he'd mentioned.
Advertising websites also track sites you have visited and then place ads in other websites based on what you've been browsing.

 this little cory was resting between a leaf and the wall of my tank

They use computer software to listen for key words and put up adds linked to those key words. There aren't people sitting there listening to your conversations.

As for adds, I don't visit any or many sites and I have been getting a heap of gun adds appearing on this forum. I live in Australia and we can't buy guns at Kmart or other places and gun ownership is highly regulated. So why I get them is unknown.

I also get the same adds over and over and over again. I click the x to close the add and say add was inappropriate (for guns and some other add I had recently), or not interested. Yet they still spam my browser with these same crap adds.

The adds and this new software are doing my head in. The software won't let me copy and paste anything except what is in the screen at that time. So I can't scroll down while copying.

The text keeps doing stupid things and I write something and then go to edit it, and the new text over-writes the original text. There is a button on my old keyboard for that (insert) but I don't have one on my laptop and it does it randomly and only does it on this forum.

There's other issues as well but I can't think of them right now coz I'm stressed out. But this crap is annoying me and making me look for other forums and there are none these days, and that annoys me more because it means I have to deal with these issues that do my head in, and my head isn't in a good place right now anyway.
