Same every day I lift weights and do planks. Use to have to walk a mile to school and back every day before quarantine so that’s how I got my exercise.
Never been much of a weight guy.

Planks are good exercise for your core and arms. You can sort of "shift" your weight around, from your arms or your abdomen.

How long can you plank for? (I am just asking - I have never actually timed myself to see how long I could do it, I just usually do 2, 1 min. planks per day.)

I do a upward plank for 1 min take a break and do it again 2 more times.

One of the things that's made me feel healthier was to start thinking healthier, self care and such :)

I ditched unhealthy foods and went down the cereal bar aisle in search of healthier snacks when I went on a weight loss journey, I lost 4 inches.

Speaking of healthier thinking, I am going through a lot of audiobooks, and watching some interesting youtube channels, do any of you have any recommendations?

I've listened to these lately:

Think and Grow Rich - Napoleon Hill
How to win friends and influence people - Dale Carnegie
Emotional Intelligence - Travis Bradberry
Untamed - Glennon Doyle
Unleash the Power Within - Tony Robbins
The Miracle Morning - Hal Elrod
Science of Likability - Patrick King
Who moved my cheese - Dr Spencer
Easy way to control alcohol - Allen Carr
The Way of The Superior Man - David Deida
Neuropsychology of Self Discipline - Sybervision

That’s a lot more than me I started when quarantine started so I haven’t got to the point where I can do that much
I guess I have a “drive”.

I want to either join the Marine Corps. or the Navy SEALS. They both require you to be absolutely fit.

I know it will several years before I enlist, but you can never get ready soon enough. People think I’m weird because of what I want to do when I become of age. I own a lot of military items that I use every day. (For example, I wear my dads old combat boots almost everywhere I go. I don’t care if I’m a “kid” I want to be prepared and trained)

Like I said, I get a lot of weird looks...:look:

Yeah that makes sense I’m 13 and I think other than a few other kids my age I know(3) I’m the only one who exercises out side of gym class. I hope to be a marine biologist so I don’t have to be ready for anything to intense like you but i don’t want to be the boney tall kid anymore

I know I have mentioned this before but Please get an apprenticeship before you join the armed forces so you have a career to fall back onto if/ when you leave the armed forces. You can do your apprenticeship from age 18-22 then join the armed forces. Or do the apprenticeship in the armed forces then go onto sniper school.

That way you will still get to do your thing in the marines, but if you leave the forces for whatever reason, you will have a profession that you can use when you are a civilian again.

As for weird looks, we all get them. I get more than most people because I talk to myself when out walking and I growl at people and chase cats.

You should take up swimming if you want to be a marine biologist. Swimming requires a lot of strength and a good heart lung combo due to water having a lot more resistance than air.

I actually used to want to be a freshwater biologist, after watching River Monsters.

But... my “interests” have changed.

Don’t know if you care, but here my boots:

They got my dad through Afghanistan, and still preform perfectly. They are the most comfortable pair of shoes I own.

Not sure what apprenticeship I could get, that I would actually be interested in.

I have been looking into it, and if you’re good, once you get out you can get a job as a police or SWAT sniper. (As in a person that is called into a hostage type situation, to remove the threat for the rest of the team)

Why can’t you exercise?
Yes, that was my question as well.

I exercise every day. 1 mile run in the mornings, pushups, sit-ups, crunches, planks, burpees, etc.

Or is it some condition you have that you cant overexert yourself?
I cant even walk up the stairs lol. Or bend over. Medical issues
