Random Discussion

Is it just me or do you want to run screaming when people start their politics and religion rants ? That's why I flushed Facebook from my life.
I actually really enjoy discussing politics and religion with people who are calm and reasonable; I find such talks uplifting when my counterpart (mostly) agrees with me, and I almost always learn something worthwhile when they don't. The trouble is that more people one adds to the discussion, the more likely that things will fly off the handle, because it only takes one unreasonable person to bring out the worst in everybody and turn it into a train wreck. Therein lies the problem with online discussion, and the reason we have to outlaw such topics on the forum. I often wish more people could discuss spiritual convictions (or lack thereof) and the way our nations are governed without things getting out of control, but it ain't so.

And yeah, that's part of the reason I got off Fakebook, too.

Anyone else ever feel like they’re invisible?
Yep. Walk into a building FULL of people who know you and nobody says hi or cares to notice you're there, even when you try to make an effort and say hi. Thas my life every week

You ever notice that you can get so close to an antelope sometimes you could almost count their eyelashes but after that first rifle report in the fall you never see them again ?
you mean deer... Antelope dont live in North america do they?

Yeah, we're talking about pronghorns, Antilocapra americana. They aren't REALLY an antelope, but that's what everybody calls them around here. Antelope or speedgoats. Closest living relative is actually said to be the giraffe, which I find really bizarre. :) Anyway, their vision is roughly equivalent to a human with 8x binoculars. And they can run 45-50 mph all day. Really cool critters. (tasty, too)

Yeah, I did. No one notices me unless I talk to them first, not even most of my friends. I want to be outgoing, but it’s really hard when no one reciprocates.

Yes ! Antelope , Pronghorns , Prairie Goats. Call them what you want. The fastest land animal on the North American continent.

Cool to know! Thank you! Learn something knew every day

For those members (you know who you are) who make excessively verbose posts, my advice is......

In promulgating your esoteric cogitations
or articulating your superficial sentimentalities and amicable philosophical and psychological observations,
beware of platitudinous ponderosities.

Let your conversational communications
possess a clarified conciseness,
a coalescent consistency and a concatenated cogency.

Eschew all conglomerations of flatulent garrulity,
jejune babblement and asinine affectations.

Let your extemporaneous descantings and
unpremeditated expatiations have intelligibility and
veracious vivacity without rodomontade orthrasonical bombast.

Sedulously avoid all polysyllabic profundity,
setatious vacuity,
ventriloqual verbosity or
vain vapidity,
obscurant or apparent.

Shun double entendre,
purient jocosity and
pestiferous profanity.

In other words…
Say what you mean and
mean what you say,
and don’t use big words!!
