Rabbut's Marine Jurnal

Same Genus too sef ;)

Kingdom-Phylum-Class-Order-Family-Genus-Species. Torch and frogspawn are identical down to the genus level it's the species level that's different.

Torch are glabrescens and frogspawn are either divisa or paradivisa ("wall or branching" type respectively)

OK, well things are still going along reasonably OK... Bar one or two things...

The Male Skunk clown jumped to his death on Tuesday last week

Have added my first SPS coral now, a "small" Organ Pipe coral, though it dwarfs my tank a little bit....

The mistery frag I now wonder might be some form of anenomy....

HPIM0793.jpg

The Gorgonia has come out to eat...

HPIM0794.jpg

The Green Star Polyps are appearing to struggle again  Last time they did this, they grew over a Blue Mushroom and killed it...

HPIM0799.jpg

Female Clown is still looking good

HPIM0807.jpg

Royal Gramma is still roaming

HPIM0800.jpg

And the Neon Goby is getting harder to Photograph each time. The little so-and-so just won't stay still long enough for my useless camera to focus on him very often...

HPIM0803.jpg

The common hermits are still doing well, and I've seen two Red Legs for the first time since adding them about 2 weeks ago...

The Peppermint shrimp are still doing well, but are camera shy, so sorry, no snaps of them...

Full tank shots though

And how could I forget the button polyps (one of about 20...)

Nice looking tank especially love the clowns, pink skunks are really nice. It made me smile when I read they attacked you; reminds me of mine. Every other night and, previously every week, my male goes in to attack mode and launches the biggest flurry of attacks he can while I feed the sun coral. Silly thing is it makes me even more fond of him.

Keep up the good work and the updates

Regards

Tar CF. It's strange isn't it, that being bitten by something can make you more fond of it, but I know what you mean...

Will be getting my Mg, KH and Calc test kits on Saturday, along with water for another waterchange and suppliments if needs be...

All the best

So sorry to hear that, damn fishes don't know when they have a good thing going.

Regards

I don't think I'll bother replacing him. TBH, when you loose three of the same fish and nothing else, it tells you something... That fish don't work in your tank, for whatever reason. Nail the problem and get it fixed or don't buy another. If you replace without fixin the issue, you will kill that replacement also

True and there is nothing worse then when people just keep trying over and over again. However in this case its not exactly like there was something wrong with the tank so you only need to make sure you get a good cover on it.

With the space between the surface and halide, a cover would make the tank cook unfortunately, so I'll have to stick to non-jumpy fish, at least untill I get onto LED's :good:

I brought home a Bubble Coral today from work. Nice piece and will try get pics up later on :good:

Couldn't you use egg crate? Some go as far as putting a non rusting mesh over the egg crate as well. That should keep jumpers in the tank alright...and it'll still let the tank "breathe".

Yeah was going to say the same thing. Use eggcrate on mine and it has saved my firefish quite a few times.
