Pygmy cories

Blue betta when are you getting some habrosus in? that is one I really strive to find. I would really appreciatte it if you would let me know when you get some in. I plan on purchasing some at the end of October, i live in Alabama we are usually still warm that time of year. :D thanks

Goodmorning, Inchworm!

How is the Inchworm family this morning? How are all the new members fairing?

I got Synirr's babies yesterday afternoon. I had planned to break their fast gradually, but one looked a little weak so I fed them Atison's First Start. That was the fry food Synirr fed them. They all munched and looked better. This morning I gave them a little jared daphnia, Zooplankton, while the bloodworms defrost.

It is very tempting to ask Bryan to ship for me Monday; I have asked him to wait until his Thursday shipments. I had best stick with the plan. I still have to get tanks cleaned, set up, and fish moved.

One of the new tanks is so heavy I can barely lift the corner. I am trying to jerry rig a ramp, but I don't know if it will still be too steep. I was amazed at the difference in the two new tanks. One is a glass 60 usg, and I can lift it. The other is a glass 40 usg, and I can barely lift a corner off the floor.

I just wanted to check in on the newbies and say, "Hi!, how are you?"

Normally we would have expected to see them by now but it was a very short rainy season this year and there haven't been any more shipments of Habrosus or Hastus. Being that the season is coming to a close shortly I don't have high hopes of seeing any more but one never knows.

We've just released C. Melanotaenia, C.Melini, C.Pulcher Variant #2, and C.San Juan.

Hi all :)

I'm happy to report that my new fish are looking better and better. They are still jittery, but the C. virginiae are OK and I think once they stop shimmying, the C. reticulatus will all be fine too. The C. armatus are coming around more slowly though, and I am still very worried about 2 of the C. pastazensis. They are still pale and do not move around much. Overall they are showing progress. They are eating well now too.

On my way home from work today, I stopped at my lfs and bought 3 more C. gosseis. Last year he didn't get many, and of the 4 I was able to get, only 2 survived the first few weeks. They did grow to be beautiful fish though. :D

I'm sorry to learn that there might not be any more hastatus or habrosus this year. I was hoping to get some too. :(

Well look at that little list just gettong longer and longer. There is a new desease I am just now discovering: SMC. Is that what it's called? Six More Cories?

Perhaps there is another source?

You must post a link behind each name or pin a list w/pics adding to the list each time you mention one in a thread. :D

Hi jollysue :)

SMC

I can't wait to see pictures of your new bettas. Have you posted a thread in the betta forum about them?

I bought a betta today and will have to get over there and start a thread too. This is the first time I bought a betta online, but I was browsing AquaBid and this guy just said, "buy me, buy me," so I did. ;) I hadn't planned to, really! :*)

Is your 40 gallon tank old? Some of the older ones were better made than the new ones, I think. But then, what isn't?

Well I know I am! What's with the 2003 birthday?

Actually it is a new one. The light one is the used one; probably, it;s a walmart or something. I think it's been repaired too. There is silicon in new places.

I posted a couple of Synirr's babies in the Synirr's Babies pics thread. It was meant to be mostly pics. But people forget and start chatting.

Oooh!Oooh! What did you get?

For some reason my computer has not been beeping when a new post message is sent.

Hi jollysue,

I'll start a thread and post a link in the Betta forum in a little while, and while I'm there I'll look at your pics too. I've heard her fish are really nice. :D

I have to learn how to use my camera. It's a good one, but I just don't take very good pictures. Shortly after I bought the camera, I found out I was going to have to move. Instead of ever having the time to learn to use the thing I ended up packing and all. After 9 years in one place you find out just how much stuff you have accumulated. What a job that was!

Anyway, once I figure out how to use it, I hope to write up some threads for the fish index. It will be fun, I think. :D

There is a discussion in betta. Most right now is in DOA thread.

Camera: Good pins with good helps and hints in the Photo forum and helpful people. Lots of fish pics are good practice. I took 80 last night. I posted one. There were some that could have gotten posted but I caused a glitch, lost my uploads and didn't feel like doing that much again. A month ago you couldn't tell what it was I was photographing.

Hi jollysue :)

That's encouraging; I thought it was just me being technologically inept! :D I know I sure have a lot of pictures of tails and sand. I'll have to check out the threads in the photo forum. So far I've been ashamed to even go in there.

Elizabeth told me to take lots of snaps. Getting a good one is snapping at the right moment. more snaps, more moments. Some things that made a difference: aim down as opposed to up (tank light reflections), turn off outside lights that reflect on the glass, the photo snap button has a focus adjustment click half way down (aim at something at the distance you want to make the shot, click the focus button, wait for your subject to pose in your focused spot), find out how to turn on the flower as opposed to the mountain (flower=portrait, mountain=landscape)

Most of that I got from the pinned threads. A couple I got from posting some awful pics and getting suggestions.

Did you look at the San Jose? How big do you think he gets? He looks small in the pic. I liked him.

There are still pygmies on aquabid for the young man.

You didn't tell me what you got!? What? What? When is it shipping?

The betta forum is a little like a sorority tank itself.

If you can't post a pic of every cory you allude to, add a link to planet catfish in your signature.

I checked out pastanzensis on Johnny Jensen's. Very nice. I'm glad your fellows are settling down. I always worry especially about new ones.

hi inch! i just had to tell you that your kitty cat looks just like my indy! (she's one of the babies in my avatar, but now she is 3 years old!)

glad to hear that both of your corys are doing well. this has been a very interesting thread for me to read because i am getting a lot of fish shipped in the next few weeks (mostly bettas and maybe some corys)

Hi jollysue :)

Here are the first pictures:

Here's the box they arrived in. I left the cat in the picture so you can get an idea of the size of the box. It was secure and taped nicely, and showed no damage from the trip.

This is what it looked like inside:

Here's the one that died. It was one of the pastazensis. :byebye: It was a beautiful fish too.

I have to get back to Bryan about this. I let him know about the fish that died, but told him I would see how the rest of them did and email him this evening.

And yes, it was USPS Express Mail.
