Pygmy cories

The clowns are about 3-4". The leucomulas are 10 months to a year.

That pastanzensis is handsome. Well all four are. I liked the virginiae. But I thought I might bid on the leucomulas. Last they showed their faces I had 3 of them. Maybe they will get happy again if they have a covey. What did he quote as shipping? It was $45 for the bettas, but I bought alot so it was cheap as taxes.

He has a close relationship with the breeder in Asia. He is their Rep here. I think their relationship is official, like as partners.

Betterbettas is the name of the breeder's outfit in Asia. They have a website too and the web sites Betterbettas, com and bluebettasusa.com are linked.

Well I bid on the leucomulas and the reticulatus, as well as the little betta lady for $5.

BTW On the order I made directly, I paid $40 shipping + $5 for each package I added. So I actually paid $50 shipping before.

Well Be sure to post pics of the new crews. Where will you put them all?

Actually let me help clear things up !

Better Bettas sells bettas that are domestically raised as well as imports corydoras, plecos, and a few other rare fish. All of our "wild" stock is held in quarantine for 60-90 days before it is released for sale. We import regularly from Peru, Colombia, Brazil, Ecuador, Guyana, Nigeria, Congo, and Venezuela.

Blue Betta USA sells strictly imported betta stock and is in no way shape or form associated with Blue Betta. Unfortunately, he decided to use the same name as us after we had split our former partnership a few years ago. All of our stock comes from our affiliate farm in Thailand as well as a few select breeders.

If there are some corydoras, plecos, bettas or something your specifically looking just drop me a note and I will do my best to procure them for you.

Regards,
Bryan

Thanks Bryan.

I don't actually know of Blue Bettas. If I accidentally left off the USA in this thread, I'll be more care ful in the future. :D

Hi BlueBettaUSA :)

Welcome to the forum! :hi:

Thank you for taking the time to join us and explain the situation. I was not aware that there was another company with a similar name as yours. In the future I will be sure to keep things straight.

It sounds like you are an excellent resource for our betta and cory keeping members. It's usually difficult, if not impossible, for us to find as good a variety as you offer at local stores.

I can hardly wait to receive my new corys and will post pictures of them for the members to see when they arrive. :D

I have won the leucomelas.

Hi jollysue :)

Congratulations!

I bet you can't wait to add them to your tank and see them swim with the ones you already have. I hope you can watch them all get together for the first time. Corys can be so happy sometimes.

They were happy when they first went to the 100 usg. But I guess not now. There are now clowns and BN to help keep the tank tidy.

I am considering a cory tank. I just got two more tanks. One is a 5 sided corner 40 usg for the Miniature South Sea Tank. I managed to drag it as far as the garage. :kana:

The other is a used lighter weight 60 usg with a homemade stand. I got it for the goldies. But I am still thinking about it. So I will have a 20, a 40 acrylic, a 60, a 12, & a 10 to decide how to play around with.

1. I have 3 orandas and the common (that was suppose to go to the lfs today  )

2. the 15 mixed cories, the 17-18 pygmies and possibly the 3 (?) older leucomelas and 2 peppers (if I can get them out of the 100 usg tank or even find them)

3. the 6 lady bettas for a sorority tank (hopefully including Roxana  ;) , a Black Copper Super Delta HM/HMx female that will just fit in the shipment Bryan said.

I may have to move to the garage and just come in to watch the fish.

I just got the notice I won the Virginiae/Sangama. The notice for the reticulas should come in moments. Then I have to wait until Monday afternoon to find out about the betta.

Well someone came in at the last minute and took the reticulatas away for a $.

I thought I had it for sure. The lot was there one minute, and the next they must have taken it.

Now I have to wait around for the betta to close.

I thought they would notify me.

Well, it will be easier. 15 new cories was going to be lot to settle in at one time. I liked the reticulatas because of the great smile that guy had in the picture. It would be better if I add to the peppers.

Hi jollysue :)

I'm sorry to learn that you missed out on the C. reticulatus. I've learned that you have to watch out at the closing of the auctions. I've missed a few that way too. :/

I've noticed that there are a few other auctions going on that might interest you. Betterbettas is again offering C. arcuatus. These are stunning fish. Their bold stripe makes them really stand out in a tank.

Another interesting fish is the C. guapore being offered by Lotsoffish. I've bought them from him and was delighted with them. They are a more delicate appearing cory that is considered a mid-level swimmer. I have them in my panda tank and, while they do school together, from time to time the whole group of them will separate and swim off in tight formation across the tank.

Then, there are a number of auctions by guppymannj. You won't go wrong with any of these. I've bought some of the C. aeneus, gold shoulders already, and have my eye on a few of the other corys he is offering. He is a noted breeder and photographer of guppies and corys. Here's his website:

It looks like it is a good time for buying corys!

Jollysue, I'll be looking forward to finding out if you win the betta, later today. :D

I have put a watch on 4 of Bryan's. This time I will stick with him, because I can get one more batch in the same shipment.

I have the reticulatus, pulcher variant #3, ambiacus, and armatus on watch. Bryan said to watch and wait until just before closing to bid.

I I like the pulcher and the armatus. Bryan recommended the pulcher for persomality. The pulcher are the ones I have my eye on, and are the first ones closing. I like the armatus, because they would go well with the virginae. But I will probably have won one by then. One more batch will be my limit on this one.

Bryan said he had extra black copper females; he could sell me one for that shipment, if I lose Roxana #1. I assume at the same price. :p

The really good news is that my cories responded to my prayers and came out to see me yesterday. I saw 2 of three of the leucomelas and both peppers. (I only got 2 because that's all that were left. They were almost fry, and so cute.) I think my cories like the big tank. They can hide forever in there. I have several fish that like their caves and hidy places.

I grabed a shot of one of the cories. He didn't come out to pose, but he sat still in the bush. Several of the pics are too large to be convenient, but they are clear. I sometimes wear out before I get them all the right size. They are in a thread "Orange BN and friend" here. :*) I am shameless.

Hi jollysue, :)

Well today's the big day. :D

The fish went in the mail yesterday and should arrive today sometime, so I will be a nervous wreck this morning. They are being shipped by Express Mail and the USPS doesn't seem to say anything other than that they left West Palm Beach, Fl. yesterday.

How are you doing with your auctions? :dunno:

:D Hi, Inchworm,

Who all are you getting?

Yes USPS is a surprise party. They have not caught up with this century.

I was going to make my hopefully final bid for the Pulchers at noon Pacific Daylight Time--7+ hours from now. Haha

But the county decided to call me in at the last minute for my jury duty. So in 4 and a half hours I have to report in. I only mind that I have trouble going to bed at a reasonable hour, because I work nights. So I didn't go to bed.

How's your hand?

So, I have 5 leucomulas, 5 virginiae/sangama, 1 RoxyRoxana. I will put the bid in early, before I leave, for the Pulcher Variant #3. If I don't get it I will try someting else. Perhaps the white/clear one w/the stripe that you suggested. He's got some other up now too, I haven't checked them out.

I also have 3 bettas from Synirr just shipped yesterday evening and I am getting 9 apples from Adistar.

So I am getting my first cup of many coffees today.

I set up tanks today. 15 cories into quarantine. Hmmm I got a used 60 usg for my goldies. The cories will quarantine in a nice SeaClear 40 long. :D
