Tank is now full and the fish are back in, hopefully the Alternanthera Rosaefolia will recover
Could do with a few more plants in there too, any ideas? :hyper:

This re-scape almost turned into a disaster for me too, heard my gf screaming that the bin bag i was using for old plants was moving
opened the bag up to find my male apisto nijsseni, not a clue how long he'd been there or how but he's now doing well and showing signs of pairing with female :D

Thinking of topping the Panda Corydoras back to 6 as the Nijsseni seem to be leaving them alone since the re-scape.
Just wondering how many cardinal would fit? or maybe i could move my current 4 cardinal to another tank and try something else? :p

Missed this one!!! New scape is awesome! You're very talented!! :good:

6 Cories and 10-12 Cardinals sounds good to me :D

Cheers mate, the wood is the same piece from my old scape just took a saw to it .
Will defo up the number of cardinal in near future but not too sure on the cory just yet, depends how the apisto keep acting.

Can anybody suggest me some more plants for the front of the main focal point and some kind of background plant to go behind the coconut cave maybe?

Foreground I would go with something like cryptocoryne amicorum or lilaeopsis brasilliensis or maybe pogostemon helferi?

Background I would go with some tiger vallis. I love it when it gets really tall and starts to run across the surface.

What are them foreground plants you mentioned like to look after? My plant skills are minimal
I did have plenty of vallis but it just never grew so i ended up binning it :/

The crypt is a piece of cake mate, really is. The lilaeopsis can be a bit touchy, but usually does ok, especially with the co2 you're using. :good:

Might try the lilaeopsis, my alternanthera rosaefolia was doing pretty well before i chopped it into pieces
even though alot of places say it needs high lighting :fun:

A friend of mine grows it no problem what so ever and that is just under a normal light bulb! It has so many runners its unbelievable!!

How about a pic with fish and water?

Fish and water is overrated mate .
Should be able to get some more pictures up tomorrow, the gf has my laptop while i build her a PC and that's the only thing with a SD card reader on it.

It kind of just looks like an empty tank at the moment as my apisto are at war and some of my panda cory are in a hospital tank

That's a shame mate. :( I think the Apisto's need a new home, that tank deserves a nice peaceful calm stock of fish.

Ah that sounded like my apisto destroyed the panda cory , I'm not 100% but i don't think the apisto had anything to do with the cory problems.
Not really sure if the apisto are ever going to get along though, the female is always chasing the male away.

Another tank would solve all my problems uh? lol.

I've added another small coconut cave to the left of the Samolus Valerandi (ugly plant at the front).
