pond cleaning

Well there happily exploring the pond now.

The other koi especialy the small ones were very interested when they were in the bag still.

Only got the pics fo them in the bag i'm afraid (who invented reflections  )

Hopefully i'll get some better ones over the weekend.

Oh yes and the ghost koi with the injured pectoral fin is on the mend...I caught it to check it over before buying the new koi ( how sensible :) ) and the fin had already made good progress on growing back :D

well here's the pics- http://uk.f2.pg.briefcase.yahoo.com/bc/pau...rc=bc%26.view=l

Thanks ryan, the guy at the shop lent me his koi appriation book and pointed out a full grown goromo....they look great :D

urm Bribones-....pass!! :/

Yes Paul, I have been meaning to ask if you have a pic of the unidentified one?

Grass Carp are growing more and more common infact the Albino form is nearly as widely seen, I see in most lfs for a good price, but they reach 36" don't forget.

The carp comes up in a few of the pictures....it's in the Sarasa group picture and there's one of it on the first page.

It would probable be easier if i had a side shot for you though!!.

Yeh, grass carp seem to be stocked everywhere, I'ved seen a fully grown albino grass carp in one of our LFS mis fits pool!! They have massive, koi, tench, orfe in there that have something wrong with them.

and hopefully our albino grass carp will carry on growing nicely which will bring on the bigger pond aswell :D a lovely 10x10 should be big enough for it fully grown.

Carp 1

Carp 2

Carp 3

:kewlpics: Having looked at the pic. this looks very much like a common carp, found in ponds and lake etc all over, but it would help if you had a side shot

Cheers :)

I'll see if i can get him over the weekend.

It's most likely is a Common though, deffinately isn't a mirror!!

Yep, I'd agree, although good you get a side shot as two of the links didn't work for me so it wasn't clear. I have a 22" Common, very confident fish.

This one sometimes darts from the surface when i'm around other times it will come up have some munch then move on!!

hmmm links working fine for me....there all in my usually place. 2 are on the first page title carp/tench and the other is on the last page in the sarasa group photo!!

Seeing it next to your finger it appears to be small? Are you sure it is not just a Black Goldfish, quite common? Otherwise it could be a Crucian carp or a Common?

Next to my finger??? It's about 6 inches.

Deffinately not a goldfish as it's completely the wrong shape. I first though it could be a crucian as it has a destintive line across the middle of it's side, which matches the picture in my Fishing book although the picture in the book(animated) shows them alot taller.

I'll try and net it over the weekend and do a side pic, it come to the surface quite readily so shouldn't disturb much.

Yeah thanks, in one pic I see I finger, I think? Maybe I am going mad but in that pic it looks tiny. Side pic would help. :)
